Perfect for Fishman acoustic-electric guitar systems with an onboard mic and an under-saddle pickup, the AFX Pocket Blender splits your TRS cable’s tip and ring outputs into one of the four switchable A/B/Y combinations that you can instantly swap between using the footswitch. Even better, this pedal’s four level faders (two for each signal) on the input mixer make it a breeze to construct two vastly different presets comprised of your combined tip and ring signals. Lastly, this little pedal also comes equipped with several utility features, including a balanced DI output, A/B/Y output, and ground lift toggle to smooth over your setup when you’re onstage.
Four different modes to swap between
The Fishman AFX Pocket Blender’s footswitch allows you to instantly swap between two different tip/ring presets. However, stage pros find the real magic is found in the four available A/B combinations. The tip and ring signal from your TRS cable each have their individual A and B levels on the input mix level controller, while the four modes — A+B/A, A+B/B, A+B/Mute, and A/B — allow you a vast array of options to switch between.
For instance, on the A/B setting, you could configure the levels on the A side to provide a 50/50 split between your onboard mic and under-saddle pickup for rhythm tones. When you need to kick into a hot lead tone, you could stomp on the pedal to switch over to a 75/25 split of your mic/under-saddle sound for a more powerful punch. The dynamic possibilities are nearly endless!
