artist biography
Inga Sylvia Hense was born on 31 March, 1919 in Helsingborg. She was a Swedish painter and textile artist.

She studied at the Konstfackskolan (Academy of Arts, Crafts and Design) in Stockholm from 1937 to 1941, and then at the Konsthögskolan (Academy of Fine Arts) in Stockholm between 1941 and 1943. She took study trips abroad - to France in 1946, and to England and Scotland in 1948. She showed in numerous exhibitions including multiple years in the ‘Unga tecknare’ (Young Artists) exhibition at the National Museum in Stockholm, a number of times in the Helsingborg Art Association's spring exhibitions,
the ‘7 unga från Konstakademien’ at Killbergs konstsalong in Helsingborg in 1943, Konstnärernas salong in Helsinki in 1946, Lidköpings konstförening in 1950, the ‘Konstklubben 52’ in Helsingborg in 1952, and ‘Kulla-konst’ in Höganäs in 1951.

Hense painted landscapes, figurative and still life works in colourful surfaces with mosaic-like planes gathered into a decorative overall structure. She produced hand woven tapestries. Examples of her work were held at National Museum (with an ink drawing) and the now closed Vikingsberg Art Museum in Helsingborg (with an oil painting)

She passed away in 1999.

Too light weight!
Style: TREE
Very light weight. Fall over constantly. Had to use double sided tape to keep it upright!

Great small decoration.
Style: TREE
Simple. Cute. Easy to build. Just a little thin, but honestly great for rings and earrings.

Charming Earring Display
Style: TREE, Style: TREE
I’m using this wooden jewelry tree as a display for my fun earring collection, and I love how cute and creative it looks! It comes in three pieces and is easy to assemble, though I did need a hammer to tap the pieces flush. I wish the earring holes were spaced a bit farther apart in some areas, but overall, it’s a charming and functional stand. Makes a great gift for any jewelry lover!
