Once the hazards have been identified, it is time to develop contingency plans and procedures that will ensure staff and property safety. Local risk assessments must be based on the licensing authority's statement. Your local risk assessment should be designed in a way that provides sufficient assurance that your premises have adequate controls and procedures. These controls should be able to reflect the risk in your area. This will depend on local circumstances. The local environment should be considered in your risk assessment. If you live near a school, it should detail how you can reduce the risk of children gambling. If they believe that your assessment is not sufficiently comprehensive, the local licensing authority may challenge it.
