Twilight Override is the fifth solo studio album by American musician Jeff Tweedy, released on September 26, 2025, through dBpm Records. A sprawling triple LP featuring 30 tracks, the record marks Tweedy’s most ambitious project to date and serves as a follow-up to his 2020 album Love Is the King. It was recorded at The Loft, his Chicago studio, with contributions from James Elkington, Finom’s Sima Cunningham and Macie Stewart, Liam Kazar, and Tweedy’s sons Spencer and Sammy.

The idea to create a triple album was sparked during a road trip when Tweedy listened to The Clash’s Sandinista! in full with his sons. The result is a project that channels that same spirit of experimentation and endurance. In its accompanying press release, Tweedy reflected on writing against the backdrop of “the twilight of an empire,” describing the album as his way of pushing back against a “bottomless basket of rock bottom” and the sense of societal decline he sees around him. He characterized Twilight Override as an attempt to “overwhelm it right back,” viewing creative output as an act of resistance against destruction.

Six singles preceded the album’s release, including “One Tiny Flower,” “Out in the Dark,” “Stray Cats in Spain,” and “Enough,” all unveiled alongside the announcement on July 15, followed by “Feel Free” on August 19 and “Lou Reed Was My Babysitter” on September 12. Following Wilco’s 2025 summer tour, Tweedy will embark on a full-band North American tour in support of the album this fall, with European dates planned for early 2026.
