Simon's Town Harbour is a historic naval base with a rich past dating back to the 18th century. The harbour played a crucial role in both World Wars, serving as a key Allied naval station. Today, it remains the home of the South African Navy and is a significant part of the town's identity. The harbour's deep waters and sheltered location continue to make it a vital maritime hub. The town is also famous for Boulders Beach, where a colony of endangered African penguins live in a protected reserve.
