Overview

The Eureka Mignon Zero 55S represents the intersection of precision engineering and practical value in home espresso grinding. Built around 55mm hardened steel flat burrs and Eureka's stepless micrometric adjustment system, this grinder delivers the grind quality and consistency required for dialing in espresso while remaining versatile enough for filter brewing. The machine incorporates Eureka's ACE System for static management and clump prevention, paired with their Blow Up design to minimize retention. With Silent Technology reducing operation to approximately 51 dB and an intuitive activation lever positioned behind the dosing cup, the Zero 55S streamlines workflow without compromising performance.

55mm Hardened Steel Flat Burrs

The Zero 55S uses 55mm flat burrs manufactured from hardened steel, a burr geometry that produces uniform particle distribution essential for espresso extraction. Flat burrs create coffee grounds with a more consistent size profile compared to conical designs, resulting in more predictable extraction behavior and better clarity in the cup. The 55mm diameter represents a practical size for home use, providing sufficient cutting surface area to grind quickly while maintaining thermal stability during typical home brewing volumes.

These burrs handle the full spectrum from espresso to coarser filter grinds, making the grinder adaptable if your brewing methods vary. The hardened steel construction ensures longevity and consistent performance over thousands of shots before requiring replacement.

Stepless Micrometric Regulation System

Eureka's patented stepless adjustment system operates by repositioning the lower burr rather than the upper burr, a design choice that provides two significant advantages. First, it enables infinite adjustment points between the coarsest and finest settings, allowing precise micro-adjustments when dialing in espresso. Second, this lower burr positioning means you can perform burr maintenance or replacement without losing your grind setting, as the adjustment mechanism remains undisturbed.

The King Size Grind Dial enhances this system with an enlarged, ergonomic interface that translates small rotational movements into precise burr gap changes. The combination of stepless adjustment and the oversized dial makes it straightforward to make the minor corrections often needed when switching between different coffees or adjusting for changes in ambient humidity.

ACE System

The Anti-Clumps and Electrostaticity System addresses two common grinding problems through deliberate airflow management within the grinding chamber. Static charge buildup causes ground coffee to cling to internal surfaces and spray outward during dosing, while clumping creates uneven distribution in the portafilter basket. Eureka's ACE System regulates how coffee exits the grinder, using controlled air movement to neutralize static charge and break up clumps before grounds reach the dosing cup.

The practical result is cleaner operation with less mess around the grinder and more consistent dose weights shot to shot. Ground coffee flows freely into the dosing cup rather than sticking to the chute or requiring manual distribution aids to break up clumps in the basket.

Blow Up System for Retention Management

The Blow Up System minimizes grind retention by actively clearing residual coffee from the grinding chamber and chute between doses. Rather than relying solely on passive design to reduce dead space, this system uses directed airflow to evacuate grounds that would otherwise remain trapped in the grinder. Lower retention means the coffee in your portafilter more accurately represents the beans you just ground, rather than a mixture of current and previous coffees.

This becomes particularly important when switching between different coffees or making significant grind adjustments. The reduced retention keeps the grinder clean internally and ensures dose accuracy, as the weight of coffee entering the dosing cup reflects what the grinder actually processed rather than including stale grounds from previous sessions.

Silent Technology

Eureka's Silent Technology incorporates an anti-vibration system that reduces operational noise to approximately 51 dB, comparable to a quiet conversation or light rainfall. The noise reduction comes from dampening motor vibrations before they transfer to the grinder body and burr carrier, preventing the resonance that typically amplifies grinding noise. The die-cast aluminum body provides mass and rigidity that further absorbs vibration.

The practical benefit is straightforward: you can grind coffee in the early morning or late evening without disturbing household members or neighbors. The 51 dB operating level represents a significant reduction compared to conventional grinders, which often exceed 70-80 dB.

Dosing Cup Holder with Activation Lever

The Zero 55S uses an activation lever positioned directly behind the dosing cup holder rather than a timer-based system or separate switch. This placement creates an efficient workflow: position the dosing cup, flick the metal lever to start grinding, and release it when you have the desired dose. The immediate tactile feedback and direct mechanical action provide precise control over grind time without requiring you to watch a display or estimate timing.

This manual activation approach suits single-dosing workflows common among home espresso enthusiasts, where you weigh beans before grinding and stop when the grinder empties. The lever's location directly behind the cup means your hand naturally moves from placing the cup to activating the grinder in one fluid motion.

Construction and Design

The Zero 55S features a die-cast aluminum body that provides structural rigidity while managing heat dissipation during extended grinding sessions. The 150-gram bean hopper capacity suits single-dosing workflows or storing enough beans for several shots when working with a single coffee. The compact footprint typical of the Mignon series makes the grinder practical for home countertops where space is limited.

The combination of metal construction, quality burrs, and Eureka's retention-reducing design philosophy creates a grinder that prioritizes longevity and consistent performance over feature complexity. The Zero 55S focuses on executing the core grinding function with precision rather than incorporating connectivity or programmable dosing that many home users ultimately bypass in favor of weighing doses.

Beauty Quality Excellent Price!
Size: Queen (90x90 Inch), Color: Olive
Wonderful quality blanket! It’s light weight, warm without being heavy, beautiful rich color. Super fast shipping. Came in a smallish box and I was a little worried it would be cheap, but being experienced with items that come with the air sucked out so I waited to see. Sure enough, once the plastic was off it fluffed out and I popped it in the dryer for 5 minutes and all the wrinkles were gone too! I absolutely don’t need a bed spread because the finish looks like expensive silk velvet! I’m buying more for the other bedrooms! I ordered a Queen, olive, 90”x90”, price is incredible and I would have paid double to get this kind of quality! Love the rich feel and gorgeous color of this blanket. I know they call it olive but it is actually a deep luxurious fern from an untouched dark forest filled with fairy houses and wonderous beings! I’m getting another, sigh…

Exactly as described
Size: Throw XL (50x70 Inch), Color: Navy
I wanted to get the little longer size, to help cover my feet while I sleep, because I sleep in a recliner due to back issues. Wow! The material is super soft, and keeps just at the right temperature of warmth at night, so the material breathes well. The extra 10 inches is a godsend now.. My feet stay warm all night long now. So the fit is perfect! The quality of the blanket is great, I’ve had no problems with it. Although my white watch band is now blue.. so I guess the color likes to bleed a bit. I haven’t washed it yet, but I will wash it either alone or with dark colors, because I believe it will bleed its color a bit in the wash & perhaps in the dryer. Still, with it being so comfortable and soft, I would highly recommend this blanket to everyone!

Buy it. Truly amazing.
Size: California King (102x96 Inch), Color: Black
It's a bit thinner than I thought and comes in a surprisingly small box but that doesn't matter at all because there's so much blanket and it's super soft, it feels like covering up with a cloud. Perfectly warm, perfectly cool and perfect for sharing the bed with a blanket hog (or your dog babies). Folds up nice and tight for storage too which is always a plus. Buy this, it's worth the price forsure.

Soft and cozy, sizing seems a bit inconsistent
Size: Queen (90x90 Inch), Color: Sage Green
I actually ordered two of these blankets in two different colors. We had urgent need to add a bed with all new bedding (medical reasons), so I ordered these blankets in a rush. The quality of the blankets seems good. They are very soft and cozy. Lightweight, yet warm. The only issue is that two blankets that should be identical in all ways other than color are actually not even close in size. No matter how hard I try, I cannot get these blankets to line up equally. I really don't like having one blanket hanging lower than the other, especially now that this bed is just inside our front door where every visitor can see it. The king size quilt should in theory cover this discrepancy, but it doesn't fit correctly (another issue). It also means that the blankets are not equally distributed over me and my husband at night. Other than the size inconsistency, I really like these blankets and think they are good value, plenty warm for Wisconsin winters when doubled up with sheets and quilt.
