RIO Elite Gold Fly Line

The RIO Elite Gold is a high-performance floating line built for anglers who value smooth casting, control, and clean presentations. It’s based on RIO’s proven Gold taper — a balanced design that handles a wide range of trout fishing situations without feeling overly aggressive or specialized.

Compared to the XP and MAX series, the Elite Gold leans more toward finesse and presentation while still maintaining enough versatility to comfortably fish a variety of setups.

On the Water

This is a line that feels smooth and predictable from the first cast.

It handles:

  • dry flies
  • light nymph rigs
  • smaller hopper-dropper setups

…with a controlled, refined feel that makes accurate presentations easy.

The taper is balanced enough to fish both shorter and longer distances comfortably, making it a great fit for anglers who want one floating line that does a bit of everything without overpowering lighter presentations.

Whether you’re fishing rivers, lakes, or technical trout water, the Elite Gold keeps things smooth and controlled.

Elite Series Performance

What separates the Elite series is the added refinement in the coating and core technology.

RIO’s SlickCast coating reduces friction significantly, helping the line:

  • shoot farther
  • stay slick longer
  • move more efficiently through the guides

The ConnectCore Plus gives the line a more direct feel during casting and line management, helping improve overall control on the water.

It’s the same proven Gold taper — just smoother, more refined, and built for higher performance.

Why We Like It at Purity Fly Co

  • Smooth, balanced taper for controlled presentations
  • Great for dry flies and lighter setups
  • SlickCast coating improves shooting and durability
  • Refined all-around floating line for lakes and rivers

If you’re looking for a floating line that blends finesse, versatility, and premium performance, the RIO Elite Gold is a proven choice that feels great on the water.

Expansive and accessible
Format: Hardcover
This book broadened my thinking on project management within business. It highlights the portfolio angle, and relevant topics like how to drive adoption/usage and broad idea capture. The case studies bring things to life as well as the `list based' approach to best practices. I'd recommend it for someone who wants to understand the latest thinking in the project and portfolio management field and tie it back to business value and business strategy.

Great Reference
Format: Hardcover
The book provides a complete, high-level overview of Project Portfolio Management (PPM). As the title suggests, it covers both Portfolio Management and Project Management. The book is a great reference for PPM concepts. I personally found the first few chapters of the book very interesting, because it talks about portfolio management in a different manner than what you would read in other books such as PMI's The Standard for Portfolio Management. The book has been written in an easy-to-read style and it provides pragmatic ideas on how to best help an organization manage their portfolio, using concepts such as: Anchoring, superior estimation, batch vs. ad hoc prioritization, one portfolio or many, private collection of information, winner's curse, innovation vs. improvement projects, accounting vs. project management, etc. In short, the book is a recommender for all PPM practitioners!

Great introduction to work management
Format: Hardcover
I am not an expert in project or work management and found this book really useful and readable. Moore does a great job of looking beyond standard project management terms and frameworks and helps re-frame project management as a strategic, not a tactical concern.

Nice update
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I really like this version of a practice test. It covers pretty much all the topics I wanted to learn more about (like math related) and the fact that’s it’s current for this year is great. I didn’t want to practice with old information. It also has a well-structured approach to mastering the digital format. I feel like it properly prepares you for the actual feeling of doing the test. My favorite thing has to be the mini test. Sometimes I think I’m ready for a test but end up realising I still have a long way to practice so it’s great to have a tool that helps with that. Just overall, its practice is very reasonable so as long as you take the time to really take advantage of this book, the SAT will be a breeze.
