  • Dual blades for universal compatibility: Includes 110 and 66 blades, enabling quick switching between common punch down standards. This means you can terminate CAT5e/CAT6 cables on both 110 and 66 blocks without carrying multiple tools, simplifying your toolkit and saving valuable project time.

Its rugged construction, featuring hardened steel blades and a sturdy handle, is designed to withstand daily professional use in data centers, telecom closets, and on-site installations.
  • Precise terminations for clean network connections: The blades are engineered to seat wires correctly into insulation-displacement terminals, delivering consistent, reliable terminations with minimal damage to conductors. This helps minimize post-installation troubleshooting and ensures optimal performance of your network.
  • Integrated blade storage and safety: A built-in blade storage area within the handle helps you keep spare blades securely on hand, reducing the risk of misplaced blades and ensuring you’re always ready for the next termination task. The design also promotes safe handling and transport when moving between job sites.

How to install StarTech.com Punch Down Tool with 110 and 66 Blades

Step 1 – Select and prepare the blade: Ensure you have the correct blade installed for your termination standard (110 or 66). If you’re switching, use the quick-access blade release to remove the current blade and snap in the other blade securely. Confirm the blade is fully seated before use to prevent misalignment during terminations.

Step 2 – Prepare the wire and jack: Strip or trim as needed according to your wiring standard and ensure the conductor is clean and well-aligned with the terminal. For CAT5e/CAT6 lines, make sure the pairs are untwisted only at the required point and kept orderly to fit into the block or jack.

Step 3 – Position the tool: Place the tool’s blade over the conductor and terminal, aligning with the slot or insulation-displacement pathway. Maintain a steady, perpendicular angle to ensure an even, crisp termination without damaging insulation or conductor.

Step 4 – Apply a firm, precise press: Push or strike the handle with controlled force to seat the wire securely into the terminal. Avoid excessive force that could bend wires or damage connectors. The aim is a clean, audible seating with a secure termination that tests well under load.

Step 5 – Inspect and test: After termination, visually inspect the connection for any stray strands and ensure there’s no overhang beyond the terminal. If needed, perform a basic continuity check or use your network tester to verify proper connectivity and minimal crosstalk. When you’re finished, retract the tool and store it in a safe location, keeping the blade covered if your model includes a protective cap.

Frequently asked questions

What makes this StarTech punch down tool different from standard tools? This model combines two blade standards (110 and 66) in a single ergonomic tool, enabling fast and accurate terminations across different block types. Its design emphasizes durability, comfortable handling, and blade storage, reducing downtime and equipment clutter on the job site.

Can I use this tool for RJ45 keystone jack terminations? Yes. Always follow the specific jack manufacturer’s instructions for termination.

How should I maintain the tool for longevity? Clean blades after use to remove debris, apply light oil to the blade hinges if applicable, and store the tool with blades retracted and secured. Looks amazing when on the wrist.
Color: Silver White
Pretty impressive for the price. Wears much smaller than I expected and super light on the wrist. I was going to change the bracelet but it completes the esthetic of the watch and has gotten compliments.

Watch is nice but band is tricky to close properly
Color: Gold Black
I just received the watch and could not figure out how to lock the band correctly. I was at the watch repair store today and the lady there showed me how to close it properly so the band doesn’t come unhooked.

It's hand wind watch
Color: Silver Black, Color: Silver Black
Last time I had hand wound watch was thirty years ago, so I was very happy to find this watch. Very stylish, has scratch resistant glass and is stainless steel. Completely not waterproof. Got rained on one day for the very short distance and the watch got fog into in. It took whole day and desiccate packages to get the steam out of the dial. Thirty clockwise winds keep the watch ticking for about seventeen hours. It is also somewhat hard to wind. The quality inspection on the band is pretty low. When arrived, clasp was loose in closing. I needed to take pliers and move the closing latch hook more up to securely close clasp. Now its perfect. Video shows how to adjust length of the clasp. Very easy with provided screwdriver. Just stick screwdriver into the hole and move back to open clasp and forward to close. Don't try to close it with the fingers. It is really hard to do it that way. If I wind it before bed and in the morning, it never stops and keeps time good. The size of the dial is perfect; but the height is very thick. Takes some time to get used to. Over all it is a very pretty watch and decent for the price tag.
