If you don't know the exact TPD of your watch, Mode 4 (bi-directional) is the universal choice suitable for the vast majority of modern automatic watches. For sensitive complications (perpetual calendar, tourbillon, minute repeater), opt for Mode 5, which is gentler on the mechanism with its long 9-hour pause.
Optimal use: The Big Woody's can operate continuously 24/7 without risk to your watches — the programmed pause cycles prevent over-winding. For mixed collections (4 watches of different brands), you can assign a specific mode to each slot according to the caliber. The glass door keeps your watches safe from dust while allowing them to be constantly visible.
⚠️ Reserved for automatic watches. The Big Woody's is exclusively designed for automatic calibers with a rotor. It is not suitable for quartz watches (battery-powered), solar watches, manual-wind watches (which are only wound by the crown), or smartwatches. Placing these types of watches in a winder is unnecessary and can, in some cases, damage the movement.
