Easy—and Safe—to Use
Each HopGuard 3 mite treatment kit contains ten or twenty-four insert strips, ready for use.
- The daytime temperature should be above 50°F (10°C).
- Use two strips per brood chamber: that is, one strip per five frames of bees, two strips per ten frames of bees.
- Strips should be hung between brood frames.
Simply add HopGuard® 3 to hives at the rate of two strips per ten frames of bees. Strips should be hung between brood frames; refer to the package label for full instructions.
When treating colonies under high temperature and humidity conditions, open the hive entrance fully, remove inner covers (if present), open screened bottom boards (if present), and insert a rim or spacer under the lid. This will help the hive regulate temperature and humidity during treatment.

We cannot guarantee that medications will have the full shelf life remaining upon receipt. If you plan to order HopGuard® 3 or other mite treatments in advance, we strongly recommend contacting us beforehand to confirm the expiration dates of our current inventory.
If you plan to pick up this product at our Woodland, CA location or have it shipped to an address in California, a copy of your Operator's Identification Number must be on file. To obtain an Operator's Identification Number, please contact your county department of agriculture and submit a copy to [email protected]. If we do not have your Operator's Identification Number on file, we will contact you before shipping your order, and your order will be held until we receive this information.
