Live in the U.S.A. 1978 – Dallas captures the Sex Pistols at their chaotic peak, performing at the Longhorn Ballroom during their infamous and short-lived U.S. tour. Recorded just days before the band dissolved, this live album documents one of the most confrontational shows in punk history—set not in New York or Los Angeles, but deep in the heart of Texas.
The Dallas performance features a full 14-song set including God Save the Queen, Anarchy in the U.K., Pretty Vacant, and the rarely performed Belsen Was a Gas. From the start, Johnny Rotten mocks the crowd, Sid Vicious provokes them with a marker-scrawled chest and sneering insults, and by the encore, the performance spirals into violence, blood, and sheer punk spectacle. This is the Pistols in full collapse, but never lacking presence.
Issued over four decades later, the recording has been remastered from the original tapes and released on limited edition white vinyl, complete with original radio ads and period-accurate artwork. Critics have praised the album as a raw, unfiltered snapshot of a band imploding in real time—proof that even in disarray, the Sex Pistols remained one of the most compelling live acts of their era.
