When adjustments are not being made, the -NMC1 display is dimmed. It returns to normal intensity upon any button push. Each function may be configured to automatically lock after 30 seconds of inactivity. When a function is locked, a button push sequence is required to unlock that function. The unlock sequence is programmable by the installer and may be reprogrammed if required.

Each -NMC1 is configured either as a Controller or a Satellite. When operating as the Controller, up to 7 satellite controls can be pointed at the Controller which arbitrates the requests and sends single commands to the devices the Controller is adjusting. When operating as a Satellite, the -NMC1 sends commands to one Controller which relays them to the controlled device(s). Compatible RDL products receive and respond to commands from up to 8 Controllers. The -NMC1 may serve as a Controller to other -NMC1 or -NLC1 Satellites.

Up to eight Dante routing settings are possible for each Source Selection including an option to clear existing routings. Each source selection on the -NMC1 can set the source gain and phantom voltage on compatible RDL product inputs, and may also set the level of the output(s) often used to feed system amplifier(s).

Volume may be configured to adjust a group of outputs or to adjust outputs individually. If grouped outputs are set to different attenuation levels, the output level offsets in dB are preserved while adjusting the group level. Audio Mute is provided on one button with status indication on the screen.

The -NMC1 Source Selection function is uniquely powerful. For compatible RDL products using a single Dante input, the -NMC1 allows the user to select a source from up to 8 Dante devices from any manufacturer using Dante routing commands. For compatible RDL products with multiple Dante inputs, the -NMC1 allows the user to select between those sources. Plus, both selection options may be combined by setting the -NMC1 to simultaneously select an input and to route a particular source to that input. Regardless of the routing or switching complexity performed in the background, the user merely sees a source and clicks the Select button.

The D SERIES-NMC1 is a remote control that provides source selection and volume control at single or multiple locations. The -NMC1 connects to a digital network that may include compatible RDL audio and control modules as well as Dante devices from RDL and other manufacturers. The unit is menu-driven using a full-color LCD display. Each -NMC1 operates as a Controller or Satellite control permitting up to eight remote controls to work together to select sources, set Dante routing and adjust levels. Setup is accomplished in a web-browser session hosted by the -NMC1. The installer enables menus and submenus required to provide the desired end user control, with the option of customizing the screen menu and function names.
