How does Hi-Fi Original compare to a normal chaff?
It’s more than “just chaff”: the alfalfa inclusion adds quality protein and natural minerals, helping support muscle and hoof horn compared with wholly straw-based chaffs.
If I move from Hi-Fi Lite to Hi-Fi Original, will it help winter weight?
Hi-Fi Original is only slightly higher in energy (8 MJ/kg vs 7.5 MJ/kg for Hi-Fi Lite), so a like-for-like swap may not make a big difference. For more calories, consider stepping up to the Alfa-A range.
Can Hi-Fi Original be used as a forage replacer?
Yes, as a partial replacer. Feed up to ~1kg per 100kg bodyweight/day (e.g., up to 5kg/day for a 500kg horse).
