artist bio
Frans Axel Wester was born 25 August 1906 in Avesta. He was a Swedish artist.
After completing his matriculation examination and studying art history at Uppsala University, he went on to study painting with various private teachers. He regularly exhibited often with groups exhibitions curated by Dalarnas konstförening. Wester is best known for his still life works, landscapes and portraits painted in gouache, oil or watercolour.
He was married to the textile designer Eva Birgit Marianne Wester (nee Larsson).
Wester passed away at the age of 70 on 23 May 1977 in his home town of Avesta.
