While now phenomenally successful in their home country (and elsewhere in Europe), Swedish disco-house/dance-pop fusionists Alcazar first made their mark way back in 2000 with 'Crying At The Discotheque' - a massive crossover hit co-produced by Johan S (Rhythm Inc.) and dance-pop don Anders Hansson. This Dance on The Beat reissue brings together the best of the various versions released at the dawn of the Millennium. On side A, the full extended mix - a chunky, disco-sampling delight that sits somewhere between French Touch and Chic - comes accompanied by the familiar radio edit. Over on side B, there's a chance to enjoy Johan S's largely vocal-free 'Detox Dub' and Pinocchio's 2001 'Tesco Mix' - a colorful, trance-infused Euro-dance revision of the type often associated with UK producers Motiv8 and Trouser Enthusiasts.
