I hand build these stoneware ceramic bowls (instead of throwing them on a potter's wheel) which creates their natural shapes.   I make my pottery this way because this is how I make my ceramic sculptures and because I wanted to make plates that felt like they had grown into being pottery instead of having been made into plates.
