This Wiremold RC7 Multi-Service Assembled Poke-Thru Device Retrofit Kit is the strategic upgrade you need to bring existing RC7 poke-thru installations on carpeted floors up to modern multi-service standards. Engineered for high-traffic commercial settings, it integrates power, data, and connectivity in a single, footprint-conscious retrofit solution. The kit is designed to meet scrub-water requirements while preserving a clean, professional floor line, making it ideal for corridors, lobbies, conference spaces, and other areas where durability and reliability matter as much as aesthetics. Whether you are modernizing a single room or updating an entire facility, this retrofit kit delivers a streamlined, durable, and future-ready answer that minimizes downtime and maximizes performance.

  • Power versatility for modern workspaces. The kit includes a 20A duplex receptacle that can be wired as a standard duplex or configured as an isolated ground (IG) receptacle. This option helps protect sensitive electronic equipment from electrical noise and grounding issues, ensuring clean power delivery for computers, AV gear, and other critical devices placed at the poke-thru location.
  • Integrated high-speed data connectivity. Two Category 6 TechChoice discrete keystone connectors are included to support robust, organized network and data access right at the point of use. This enables fast, reliable Ethernet connections for workstations, IP phones, and secure network drops without requiring additional wall space or ceiling drops.
  • Durable, floor-friendly design. The retrofit kit features a scrub-water finish flange designed to withstand frequent mopping and cleaning in busy environments while maintaining a clean, professional look at the floor edge. Its rugged construction is built to endure constant foot-traffic and occasional equipment movements without compromising performance.
  • Fast, non-invasive retrofit for carpeted floors. Engineered to retrofit existing RC7 poke-thru devices, this kit minimizes floor disruption and downtime. The modular components simplify installation, allowing technicians to upgrade with minimal removal of carpet material and a straightforward wiring process that aligns with common electrical and data practices.
  • Future-ready, scalable solution for multi-service needs. With two discrete Cat6 keystone connectors and a configurable 20A receptacle, the kit supports evolving connectivity and power requirements in modern offices and commercial spaces. It provides a clean, centralized access point for power and data while preserving the elegance and safety standards expected in professional environments.

how to install Wiremold RC7 Multi-Service Assembled Poke-Thru Device Retrofit Kit

Before you begin, ensure the main electrical panel is de-energized for the circuit that serves the poke-thru location. Always follow your organization’s safety procedures and local electrical codes when performing installations or retrofits. The steps below provide a practical, high-level guide for typical installations, but refer to official installation manuals for precise instructions and any product-specific cautions.

Step 1: Prepare the work area and confirm compatibility. Inspect the existing RC7 poke-thru device and surrounding floor opening. Verify that the carpet thickness and subfloor conditions are suitable for the retrofit kit’s flange and mounting hardware. Gather required tools: screwdriver, wire cutters/strippers, voltage tester, and the appropriate conductors for the 20A circuit and the IG option if chosen.

Step 2: Remove the old poke-thru assembly if present. Carefully detach the existing receptacle and data components from the RC7 housing, noting conductor routes and tie-off locations. Keep wiring separated and labeled to avoid cross-connection errors during the retrofit. Clean the floor opening edges to ensure a solid seating surface for the scrub-water finish flange.

Step 3: Install the new retrofit components. Position the scrub-water finish flange so that it sits flush with the carpet surface and the floor opening edges. Secure the flange and the RC7 retrofit housing according to the manufacturer’s mounting guidelines. Route the power conductors to the 20A receptacle module and route the two Cat6 cables toward the provided TechChoice keystone connectors. If the isolated ground option is selected, attach the IG conductor to the designated grounding terminal and ensure proper separation from the power circuit conductors to maintain grounding integrity.

Step 4: Make electrical and data connections. Connect the hot and neutral conductors to the 20A receptacle terminals, ensuring a solid, code-compliant connection. If using isolated ground, connect the dedicated IG conductor to the IG terminal as specified by the kit instructions. Terminate the two Cat6 connectors into their respective keystone jacks, and route each data run to its intended network device or switch. Label any cables for easy identification and future maintenance.

Step 5: Verify fit, finish, and testing. After wiring is complete, recheck that the finish flange sits evenly and the carpet remains undamaged around the poke-thru opening. Re-energize the circuit and test the 20A receptacle for proper power delivery. Use a network tester to confirm that the Cat6 keystone connections provide the expected data performance. Confirm that the isolated ground, if installed, is properly functioning and isolated from the power ground path. Finally, inspect the overall assembly for security, cleanliness, and alignment with surrounding floor surfaces.

Step 6: Documentation and training. Record the retrofit details for future maintenance, including circuit identification, IG configuration status, and keystone connector locations. Provide brief training notes to facilities and IT staff so that they understand how the new poke-thru device delivers both power and data in a single, accessible floor-level interface.

Frequently asked questions

BEDGEAR Does It Again!
BEDGEAR used to make a kidney shaped pillow with a pretty firm memory foam type inside, and a gel cooled outside. It was an ABSOLUTE fave of mine for years. Since it died a number of years ago, and doesn’t appear to be made anymore, I’ve been in search of something just like it…or equally amazing in a different way…without luck. (I probably have 10 somewhat useless pillows in a closet to show for it.). So…long story short, I ended up back at BEDGEAR, and got the one that at least was the same color and of a similar construction as my old friend. And ya’ know what? It’s about as close to replicating that sleep experience as anything I’ve come across. Fairly firm, interior materials that don’t really move around, and a medium height that works well for me as a side sleeper. A very well constructed pillow too, that’ll last! Whether it’s this one (which I thought was very reasonably priced for a top quality item) or another one, BEDGEAR is a pillow manufacturer you should look into. Their products are a cut above.

Packaging for shipping = terrible. Pillow = 10 stars
The pillow is great; the shipping/packaging not so much. Normally Amazon warns me if an item is being shipped in manufactures packaging and gives me an option to choose to have it boxed in Amazon packaging; I was not given that warning or option for this item. I am honestly confused why anyone would think shipping a pillow in just its vinyl store packaging “dust” cover would be a good idea. The vinyl cover arrived fully damaged. Cuts from what look like a box cutter, the handle 1/2 torn off, the zipper was 1/2 unzipped… Thankfully the pillow was not damaged or this review would be much different; but honestly who ships a pillow of any price point in a 10mil vinyl dust cover? About the pillow. My young adult child has been using a Bedgear pillow for about 9 years…the same pillow actually. It has stayed in a waterproof pillow cover inside a pillowcase that gets washed weekly, and the pillow has held up great. Recently I noticed the pillow was being used without the 2 covers and had gotten something spilled on it. Since the pillow is spot clean only and the inner foam is not submersible in water I decided it was time for a new pillow. Their original model was the original Summit but since they toss and turn and then end up on their stomach we decided to try the Multi position this time. They have slept on the pillow for 3 nights now and seem extremely happy.
