How to install ASRock Rack 1U2LW-X570/2L2T Barebone System

  • Plan and prepare: Confirm rack placement, required CPU model within the AM4 family, memory modules (up to 32 GB total), storage drives (2 x 3.5" bays), and any NVMe or PCIe expansion cards you intend to install. Ensure you have appropriate cooling solutions and power supplies compatible with the chassis and your environment.
  • Install the CPU: Open the CPU socket lever, align the processor with the socket using the marked corner, and gently seat it. Lower the lever to secure the CPU. Apply a suitable thermal interface material if your cooler requires it, and mount an appropriate air or liquid cooling solution designed for 1U servers.
  • Install memory modules: Insert each DDR4 DIMM into the four memory slots, ensuring the notches align and seating firmly until the latches snap into place. Verify RAM is recognized in the BIOS during initial boot to ensure proper operation and stability.
  • Install storage drives: Mount the 3.5" drives into the two bays, secure with screws, and connect SATA data and power cables as required. If you plan to use NVMe drives, install them in the appropriate M.2 or PCIe slots per the chassis design and motherboard layout, then ensure NVMe is enabled in the BIOS if applicable.
  • Rack mounting and power: Attach the barebone to your 19" rack using the provided rails or mounting hardware, level and secure it, then connect the power cords to a suitable power source. Turn on the system, enter the BIOS/UEFI, and configure basic options such as boot order, RAID modes, and virtualization features as needed.
  • Initial setup and testing: Run fundamental POST checks, confirm CPU, RAM, and drives are detected, configure RAID arrays if used, install your preferred operating system or hypervisor, and enable any remote management features (IPMI) for ongoing administration.
  • Ongoing maintenance: Keep firmware and BIOS updated, monitor drive health and temperatures, and maintain proper airflow to preserve reliability in 1U deployments. Document configuration details for easy recovery and expansion later on.

Reliable, Comfortable, and Good-Looking Chair — I Keep Coming Back to It
Color: White
This is my fourth time purchasing this Amazon Basics mid-back office chair, which says a lot about its overall value. It looks clean and modern, fits well in a home office, and is genuinely comfortable for daily use. I typically get about a year and a half out of each one, which feels reasonable given the price point and materials. Out of the box, the chair is easy to assemble and immediately comfortable. The padding is supportive, the armrests are well positioned, and the faux leather gives it a more upscale appearance than many chairs in this category. It rolls smoothly, swivels easily, and works well for long computer sessions without causing back or shoulder fatigue. That said, this is not a lifetime chair. After extended use, the cushioning and structure do begin to wear, and that’s usually when I replace it. Still, considering the comfort, appearance, and cost, it remains one of the best value office chairs I’ve found — which is why I keep buying it again. Pros: • Comfortable padding and good mid-back support • Clean, modern appearance that looks great in an office • Smooth rolling and stable base • Easy assembly • Excellent value for the price Cons: • Durability is moderate; expect replacement after about 1½ years • Not designed for long-term heavy-duty use Verdict: If you want a comfortable, attractive, and affordable office chair that performs well for daily use, this is a strong choice. It may not last forever, but its comfort and value make it easy to recommend — and easy to repurchase.

Good Basic Chair with a Few Drawbacks
Color: Black
I bought this Amazon Basics office task chair for my boyfriend who works from home. Overall, it’s a decent, simple chair that gets the job done for everyday use, especially if you just need something functional and affordable. However, there are a couple of downsides. The recline doesn’t go back as much as he would like, so it’s not ideal if you prefer to lean back and relax between tasks. Also, after about a month of use, the wheels don’t glide as smoothly as they did at first, which can be a bit frustrating when rolling across the floor. Overall, it’s a solid basic chair for light use, but if you want something with a deeper recline or super smooth mobility long-term, you might want to consider other options. Still a reasonable purchase depending on your needs.

Had for just over 9 years now and still pretty solid
Color: Black
I ordered this chair back in December 2015 for our front office, and it's been moved to our back shop where we fabricate. We're not a gentle work space by any stretch of the imagination; we build stuff and it's messy, lots of tools etc. This chair has held up surprisingly well! The faux leather is delaminating almost entirely on the seat but honestly, I'd expect that for faux leather on something that is used daily. The seat pad, in my opinion, has gotten de-poofed. So it's not plush anymore but still usable. I've asked the guy that's using it if they want an upgrade/update and they said they like it and don't want to change it out just yet. That's saying something! The size is nice and wide. We've had a range of differently sized folks sit in the chair over the years and the seat was always comfortable (less now without so much seat poof), I was able to sit cross-legged and the whole chair felt sturdy then as it does now. All of the standards functions you'd want an office chair to do, it can still do: it goes up and down smoothly, it rolls just fine, it's still pivot-reclines comfortably and doesn't feel like it's going to topple. I like it!
