Principle
To address the needs of people with various visual impairments, such as colour vision defects and severe light sensitivity in patients with glaucoma, cataract, age related macular degeneration, pigmentary retinopathy, diabetic retinopathy, etc. LESA France offers a full range of special absorptive filters developed specifically for low vision applications.
UV light is harmful to the eye, but it has been shown that blue light also has a harmful effect. These are the short, energetic waves of daylight. When it enters the eye, its diffusion creates a kind of deformation of the image on the retina, leading to a reduction in contrast. The purpose of the filters is to suppress this light to make vision more comfortable. Sensitivity to glare will be reduced. There is an increase in contrast and acuity, and therefore comfort. The filter will select the wavelengths that can enter the eye.
Different tints are available, filtering wavelengths from 450nm to 550nm.
All our filters are 100% anti-UV.
The clips are used as standard non-refractive clips over existing prescription glasses and are available in different sun protection categories from 1 (indoor or cloudy weather) to 3-4 (outdoor, sunny weather) and tints. Category 4 - not suitable for driving!
