We Say

SIWA was born out of a collaboration between designer Naoto Fukasawa, and the traditional Japanese washi paper manufacturer Onao, whose history and expertise date back 1000's years. During that time the company perfected the art of paper-making, they created a new water and tear-proof, paper-based fabric. This brown coin purse is hand-crafted in Yamanashi, Japan, from the brand's RPF Naoron fabric, and makes for a chic way to manage your loose change.

Selector's Notes

We love the crinkle effect of this paper-based, tear-proof & water-resistant fabric. SIWA's name comes from the Japanese characters used for washi (Japanese paper), and the word 'crinkle'.

This is an excellent reminder in this time of overly managed care
Jean Watson has really articulated what nursing is about. She describes her theory of caring very clearly. She has reawakened my passion for nursing. She really challenges nurses to reflect on their individual interactions with patient. This is an excellent reminder in this time of overly managed care, where there is so much pressure to accomplish tasks and forget about "caring" for the patient. I do not agree with the more New Age aspects of the theory, but the main premise, which is "caring" is very powerful. Jean Watson is a treasure.
