The truth is, our country has never been perfect, or “great”. Through struggle, dissent, debate, and organizing, we've continued through history to work to make these words truly inclusive – so that "We The People" finally will mean for ALL of us. For 250 years, America has been on a non-linear journey of progress toward that more perfect union, and we're still fighting to include and protect everyone: working people, women, Black and brown communities, immigrants, disabled and LGBTQ+ folks.

With reproductive freedom, immigrant rights, trans justice, and the fundamental foundations of our democracy under attack, we've got a simple message: we the people deserve better! 

As we reflect on leadership and legacy we recognize that true patriotism means standing up for justice, equality, and dignity for all. Democracy isn't something we passively inherit; it's something we actively defend. Our elected officials aren't rulers, but public servants meant to represent US, not corporations or their own interests.

Our families and children deserve better.
