This extraordinary ring showcases a vibrant 3.42ct natural black opal, alive with flashes of color that shift beautifully in changing light. The opal is flanked by two natural sapphire accents, their rich hues providing a striking contrast to the opal’s ethereal play of color.
The jewel began its life as an antique brooch (circa 1910), exquisitely crafted in 18k gold, before being thoughtfully reimagined into a ring by our jeweler. The transformation was completed with the addition of a custom 14k gold band, offering modern wearability while preserving its original artistry.
The face of the ring measures 1.2 inches by 0.6 inches wide. It is currently a size 7.25, but may be resized upon request for an additional charge.
The metal content of this piece has been verified by XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and jeweler’s acid testing, ensuring both purity and authenticity.
In very good condition, the ring shows a discreet small crimp on the collet (bottom left, visible in the photo), suggestive of a past repair. This does not detract from its beauty or durability and serves as a testament to its history.
