The AT4080 offers the coveted ribbon microphone sound with a robust build that overcomes the fragility and low output traditionally associated with ribbon mics. This microphone features Audio-Technica’s proprietary MicroLinear™ ribbon imprint for enhanced durability and an innovative dual ribbon construction for increased sensitivity. Equipped with powerful N50 rare earth magnets, the AT4080 provides a high output level. The classic bidirectional (figure-of-eight) polar pattern captures sound equally from the front and back, while the ultra-fine mesh protects the ribbon from damage. The microphone’s acoustic baffle system and large output transformer ensure natural low-frequency response and extended dynamic range.
