In my eyes 'tennis court' feels free and open and bouncing while still. She was originally painted with very little direction, only feeling and whatever flow I had those few days in mid-2024. 2024 was such an uncertain and new year for me, which I've found echoed among many people I speak to. I remember the spearmint ease of 'tennis court' when she developed, allowed me to feel open-- when I think for a brief moment I'd wound myself tightly closed to the glisten of possibility. There's a youthful fun and innocent clarity to this piece that has emanated outward from the moment I first came to find her. She's not complicated and she doesn't want anything from me; she only gives and with that sweet sentiment, I hope for her to extend her generosity further than just one sole collector. I'm so excited to offer this piece as a limited-edition print and for her to intertwine among many lives, being enriched by the gazes of those who find their necessary mirror in her bouncy, sure spirit <3
