How to care for a carved solid wood ashtray? After each use, remove ashes with a dry cloth or soft brush — do not wet the wood. Once or twice a year, apply a thin layer of natural oil (teak oil or linseed oil) to nourish the wood and revive its golden hue. Avoid chemicals and detergents that penetrate the wood's pores and dry it out.
Trinidad Wood vs wood/metal ashtrays: wood/metal ashtrays (Iron Belt, ELITE, Arabesque) use a metal bowl or insert to insulate the wood from hot ashes. The Trinidad Wood is different — the cigar rests directly on the wood.
