Classic tonewoods and quality craftsmanship

D’Angelico crafts each Excel 16 hollowbody from maple and spruce, just like John D’Angelico did in the early 20th century. This guitar’s laminate spruce top and laminate maple back and sides team up to deliver excellent response and old-school jazzbox tone, even with its 16-inch body width and slightly slimmer 2.75-inch body depth. D’Angelico carves the neck into a comfortable C-shaped profile, which offers a stable, hand-filling feel. Plus, the neck is topped by a 12-inch radius ebony fingerboard studded with 22 easy-playing frets.
