Robert Harbin was Eric Lewis's best friend (Martin's father); hence Martin got the rights from him for his "Card in Bottle" effect using flat bottles and a set of nested boxes.
At his lectures Martin performed this effect with a patter evolving around his old friend Dai Vernon, using a cigar besides the bottles as a convincing prop.
