Designed to elevate the efficiency, security, and aesthetics of professional rack environments, the Middle Atlantic Door Panel for Slim 5 cabinets offers versatile door styles that adapt to any application. Available in two distinct styles—Plexiglas and solid—the Slim 5 door panels are crafted to meet the demanding needs of data centers, broadcast studios, IT rooms, and industrial workspaces while maintaining the clean, professional look Middle Atlantic is known for. These doors are built to blend seamlessly with modern equipment racks, delivering not only protection for housed electronics but also a clear path to quick access when maintenance or upgrades are required. Whether you’re outfitting a single cabinet or a multi-bay enclosure, these doors ensure consistent airflow, orderly cable management, and a streamlined appearance across your entire rack system.

  • Two door styles for flexible aesthetics and function: Choose Plexiglas for a clear, lightweight viewing window that helps you monitor components at a glance, or opt for the solid door for enhanced privacy and security. Both styles are designed to fit the Slim 5 family, ensuring visual consistency across your installation and preserving a professional, low-profile footprint in any environment.
  • Right or left swing installation: The doors are engineered for ambidextrous mounting, giving you the flexibility to configure cabinet doors to swing in the most practical direction for your space. This adaptability is especially valuable in multi-bay installations or rooms with tight clearance where door swing can impact accessibility and workflow.
  • Cam key lock for reliable security: Each door is equipped with a cam lock that provides dependable, tool-assisted access control. Security is essential in shared facilities, and this locking mechanism helps prevent unauthorized access to sensitive equipment while maintaining straightforward maintenance access when needed.
  • Flush pull for clean lines and ease of use: The flush pull handle integrates smoothly with the door surface, delivering a sleek aesthetic with intuitive operation. The flush design minimizes snag hazards and contributes to an organized, professional rack appearance that’s easy to clean and maintain.
  • 1-1/2" clearance for proper airflow and service access: The door design maintains a 1-1/2" clearance, supporting proper airflow around installed equipment while providing ample space for cables and connectors to exit and enter the cabinet for routine servicing. This clearance helps balance cooling efficiency with convenient access to internal gear.
  • Multi-bay compatibility for scalable installations: Engineered to integrate into multi-bay configurations, these doors simplify large-scale deployments by offering consistent hardware and mounting geometry across adjacent cabinets. This uniformity assists with cable routing, door alignment, and overall system cohesion in dense rack environments.

In addition to protecting sensitive gear, Middle Atlantic’s door panels are a practical choice for organizations prioritizing maintenance efficiency and a tidy data center or studio environment. Plexiglas doors provide visibility without sacrificing security, enabling operators to monitor status indicators, rack lighting, and front-panel displays without opening the door. Solid doors, on the other hand, maximize privacy and reduce distractions in environments where equipment labels andCable management are critical. The combination of secure locking, easy-to-grip flush pulls, and the option to set doors for either left- or right-handed operation makes these panels a smart fit for a wide range of rack layouts and workflow requirements. For technicians and facility managers, the doors contribute to a safer, more organized workspace by preventing accidental door openings and providing a stable, controlled enclosure boundary for equipment inside Slim 5 cabinets.

Technical Details of Middle Atlantic Door Panel

  • Door styles: Slim 5 door panels offered in Plexiglas (clear viewing) or solid (opaque) finishes to suit visibility and security needs.
  • Swing orientation: Ready for either right or left swing installation to accommodate different room layouts and cabinet placements.
  • Locking mechanism: Cam key lock provides secure, controlled access to the enclosed equipment.
  • Handle design: Flush pull contributes to a clean, streamlined exterior and reduces snag hazards during operation.
  • Door clearance: Maintains a 1-1/2" clearance to support proper airflow and accessible interior components.
  • Mounting compatibility: Designed to integrate with multi-bay Middle Atlantic enclosures, ensuring consistent alignment and ease of installation across adjacent cabinets.

How to install Middle Atlantic Door Panel

  • Start by determining the desired door style (Plexiglas or solid) and the swing orientation (right or left) based on your cabinet layout and access workflow. Confirm that the Slim 5 enclosure is compatible with the chosen door panel to ensure proper mounting and fit.
  • Power down and disconnect any active equipment as a precaution before door installation to avoid disturbing cables, patch panels, or power connections within the cabinet. Clear the interior of the enclosure of loose cables and components to provide a clean working area.
  • Remove any existing doors or fasteners from the cabinet if you are replacing an old panel. Align the new door panel with the cabinet door opening, ensuring the hinges or mounting points line up with the enclosure’s hinge bosses or mounting brackets as required by the Slim 5 design.
  • Fasten the door using the supplied hardware, ensuring the chosen swing direction is achieved. Tighten hardware securely but avoid overtightening to prevent warping or misalignment. Verify that the cam lock aligns with the strike plate and engages smoothly when the door is closed.
  • Test the door operation by opening and closing through the full range of motion. Confirm that the flush pull sits flush against the door surface and remains comfortable to grip. Check that the 1-1/2" clearance is maintained, allowing adequate airflow and cable access without interference from the door edge.
  • Finalize by verifying that the door sits flush with the cabinet face, there is no binding against adjacent panels, and the cabinet’s internal components remain accessible for maintenance. If you are configuring a multi-bay setup, repeat the process for each adjacent enclosure to preserve a uniform aesthetic and consistent door operation across the entire installation.

Cute shelf set!
Color: Brown, Color: Brown
Shelves look great in my room. Perfect amount of space to display my little travel trinkets. Super easy to install and seem to hold a good amount of weight as I have a Mason Jar full of sand/shells on one of them.

quality matches cost + instructions unnecessarily tedious
Color: Brown, Color: Brown
The material is real wood but don't assume that means quality - it's still very cheap feeling, and very lightweight. But once installed they are quite stable, and they look great from afar. I got a darker colored one and the stain does come off very easily. One of the shelves had a huge manufacturer sticker on it and it took off the stain when I removed it, and a bit of the stain also came off when I wiped the shelves down with a wet cloth. It'll be dry dusting from now on, I suppose. Also, they did not fit snugly into the corner - when one side is pushed flush to the wall, it forces the other side to pull away from the wall a little bit. It wasn't a drastic space, maybe like 1/8th of an inch, but it is still something to note. I am fine with the cheap quality as they are, after all, pretty cheap, so I'd say they are worth exactly as much as they cost. Personally I am happy with the purchase - just thought I'd warn. Secondly - if you want to follow the instructions exactly, you will need two people unless you have inhuman agility. But I also think the instructions were a bit asinine and tedious. They want you to line up the LOOSE shelf and brackets with a leveler to mark where the brackets go on the wall, then put in the wall screws, hang the brackets on them, balance the shelf on the brackets to mark on the SHELF where the brackets will be attached, take the brackets off the wall to screw them into the shelf, then put the combined shelf-bracket unit once again on the wall screws and finally screw those in tight. In hindsight, you can just mark where the brackets should go on the SHELF (not wall), screw the brackets into the shelves, THEN level the shelf on the wall and screw the whole unit into the wall together. We were really baffled why the instructions didn't have us do that instead of spending extra time (and frustration) trying to juggle all the loose pieces and tools. But I'm not engineer-minded, nor have I ever installed corner shelves before, so maybe there would be some kind of issue with doing it that way that I can't predict.

Good shelving decor
Color: Black
Easy to install and perfect for a corner display of Disney decor. They are lightweight, so we didn't put anything heavy on them, but the brackets seem sturdy enough that we could probably put something moderately weighty on them.
