Refined Retroblast pickups

Retroblast pickups entered the world as a refinement of Reverend's popular Revtron pickup, a vintage-inspired humbucker with roots dating back to the 1950s. However, the Retroblast quickly exceeded expectations with greater output, tighter low end, and emphasized twang across bass, treble, and mids. From honky highs to percussive low-end, articulate Retroblast pickups shine used for blues, rock, and country, where hot definition is the name of the game. Still, like all Reverend electric guitars, tone and Bass Contour controls give the Flatroc a broad tonal range that exceeds expectations.

Combat muddy bass with Bass Contour

Guitarists often wonder why more guitars don't offer a bass roll-off control like the Flatroc's Bass Contour knob. Traditional electric guitar tone knobs address high frequencies while leaving low-end non-adjustable without the addition of outboard gear. Bass Contour changes that. Dial it back just a bit to tighten up your rhythm tones, or roll it back further to emphasize attack and presence. Or use it in conjunction with the tone control for mid-focused tones you normally couldn't achieve without an EQ or filter pedal. What's more, even the Flatroc's treble control is more flexible than a standard one thanks to a treble bleed circuit that retains high frequencies, even at lower volumes.

Korina, a medium-light tonewood with mahogany-like sonic characteristics, delivers all the resonance you can handle, along with a lively, responsive, and harmonic-laden sound guaranteed to inspire. The Flatroc’s roasted maple neck is heat treated at over 300°F for an eye-grabbing look and added stability, along with a 6-bolt neck plate, pin-lock tuners, a dual-action truss rod, and slick Boneite nut. Reverend’s proprietary string tree also eliminates pesky G-string buzz by holding three strings beneath an extended bar. Finally, a hand-initialed, serial-numbered headstock lends a high-end, custom-shop vibe to this top-shelf electric guitar.
