Meet the Dell OptiPlex 7000 7020 Desktop Computer, a business-class tower engineered for reliability, security, and scalable performance. Built for modern workstyles, this compact powerhouse pairs a 14th generation Intel Core i5 processor with vPro technology to deliver responsive everyday computing, smooth multitasking, and dependable remote manageability for IT teams. The system is designed to support busy offices and hybrid workflows, offering essential display outputs, ample memory, and fast solid-state storage, all housed in a sturdy black chassis that fits neatly under desks or in networked workstations. Whether you’re updating an aging fleet, equipping a shared IT lab, or provisioning workstations for a growing team, the OptiPlex 7000 7020 is ready to handle typical office tasks, data-entry workloads, and light content creation with ease.

  • The heart of the system is a 14th Gen Intel Core i5-14500 processor paired with vPro technology, delivering solid performance for everyday productivity, multitasking across multiple applications, and responsive computing during busy workdays. This processor balances power and efficiency, helping teams stay productive while keeping energy use in check. With 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, you’ll experience smoother application switching, quicker boot times, and improved performance in multi-app environments—ideal for office suites, web collaboration, and ERP/CRM software.
  • Storage and speed are engineered for rapid access to work files and applications. The 256 GB SSD provides fast boot times, quick application launches, and snappy system responsiveness, helping your team move from login to productivity in seconds. The tower includes a native M.2 SSD slot for expansion or OS optimization and supports additional storage options via PCIe slots, enabling IT departments to scale storage as data needs grow without replacing the base unit.
  • Display versatility and monitor efficiency are built in for multi-monitor setups. With one native HDMI and one native DisplayPort, the OptiPlex 7000 7020 makes it easy to configure dual monitors for data analysis, programming, design reviews, or customer service dashboards. This configuration supports extended desktops, enabling more screen real estate for spreadsheets, dashboards, and collaboration tools while keeping desk space organized with tidy cable management.
  • Expandability and configurability are at the core of this Dell desktop. Three PCIe expansion slots offer room to tailor the machine to specific workloads, whether you need a dedicated GPU for light graphics tasks, a hardware RAID controller, or additional PCIe cards for specialized business software. The combination of expansion slots and M.2 storage options gives IT teams the flexibility to adapt the system to evolving requirements without sandbagging productivity with new hardware purchases.
  • Security, manageability, and durability meet enterprise needs. The inclusion of vPro technology supports remote management, security features, and streamlined IT deployment, reducing on-site maintenance and enabling easier patching and updates across devices. The tower form factor is designed for reliability in busy work environments, with robust chassis construction and standard security features to protect sensitive business data while delivering long-term value for organizations.

How to install Dell OptiPlex 7000 7020 Desktop Computer

  • Prepare your workspace: choose a clean, stable surface with adequate room for the tower, monitor(s), keyboard, and mouse. Ensure you have a suitable power outlet and Ethernet cable or reliable Wi-Fi access for initial setup.
  • Unpack and inspect: remove the Dell OptiPlex 7000 7020 from its shipping materials, check that the chassis is intact, and verify that all included accessories (power cord, monitor cables, and documentation) are present. If you plan to upgrade RAM or storage, keep the workstation on a non-static surface and unplug the system before opening the case.
  • Connect display and peripherals: attach your monitor to the available HDMI or DisplayPort outputs. Connect a keyboard and mouse via USB, and connect to the network either through Ethernet or a wireless adapter if you’re using a compatible model. Ensure all cables are secure but not over-tightened.
  • Power on and configure: plug the power cord into the tower and a grounded outlet, then press the power button. You’ll be guided through the initial Windows setup (or your preferred OS configuration) and any enterprise enrollment steps if you’re integrating with a corporate IT environment. If your deployment uses vPro, IT can remotely configure and manage this device after first boot.
  • Update and optimize drivers: once the operating system is installed, connect to the internet and run Windows Update (or your chosen OS update mechanism) to apply the latest drivers and security patches. Visit Dell Support to obtain chipset, video, and BIOS updates for the OptiPlex 7000 7020 to maximize stability and security in production use.
  • Upgrade path and expansion: if you plan to upgrade memory or storage, power down the machine and disconnect power before opening the chassis. Install additional RAM modules into available DIMM slots to achieve higher multitasking capabilities. If you need more storage, consider adding an extra M.2 SSD or a PCIe storage card through the PCIe slots, ensuring your chosen configuration remains within the chassis’s thermal and power limits.
  • Finalize setup and security: after hardware changes, re-seat components, cable manage to maintain airflow, and re-enter BIOS/UEFI to verify hardware paths and boot order. Enable any IT security features such as TPM, Secure Boot, and vPro management profiles if your organization requires them. Create or deploy user profiles according to your organization’s policies and document the setup for future IT support.

A Nice Cover For A Decent Price.
I like this product because it protects the remote and makes it easier to keep track of it. I’d recommend buying it if you have kids or think the remote is too fragile feeling. Note: you only get one cover, not three like the picture seems to suggest.

Soft. Flexible. Easy to grab.
Pros: Soft. Durable. Fits. Cons: String durability. This silicone material is soft to the touch and feels great. It is very flexible as well and I expect it to last a long time. The design doesn’t interfere with the touchpad at all when trying to navigate and fast forward or fast reverse. There are top and bottom bumps with extra material that create this gap underneath. It’s such a minor detail but makes grabbing the remote so easy versus having it completely flat. There are cut outs for charging port, IR, Apple logo, and what I think is the microphone. It comes with a sling that gets attached to the cover. It’s an ok sling as over time it did fall apart for me. Granted we don’t really use the string much. You can hang it with the accessory it came with though. We just toss it around. Overall, this is a great case for your remote.

Looks like a new remote
Needed something to cover and also protect the remote after dropping it so many times that it was chipped around edge. This looks great and the remote is easier to find and looks like brand new.

This silicone fits like a glove and keeps that slippery and fragile Apple remote from slipping right out of your hands. Great value and well made product!
