International Standards
S-63 charts respect Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC) and Electronic Chart Display Information Systems (ECDIS) standards listed below.
- S-57 refers to the data format under which the charts are distributed and can be downloaded and shared to license owners
- S-52 refers to the iconography standard under which all the data displayed on the charts appears. It ensures that the charts appear the same way to anyone using them and in a uniform way that doesn't differ from chart to chart.
- S-58 refers to the quality control standard under which the charts are verified before being issued. These checks guarantee that the charts will not cause a chart plotter malfunction and that there are no errors in mapping, scaling etc.
