Raised in a log cabin in the woods, Kim Ferreira now lives in Portsmouth, NH, a lovely little city by the sea. Her winding path as an artist began with a B.F.A. from the University of New Hampshire. Soon after, she opened an art gallery which she owned and operated for ten years. After becoming a mother in 2017, Kim’s focus in painting shifted from quirky self-portraits to anthropomorphic woodland animals against a backdrop nodding to french rococo landscapes. Her work is inspired by simple pleasures and the exuberant enjoyment of life, what the French refer to as “joie de vivre”. She is also a venturous baker, a soy candle-maker, a dreamer, a brown-eyed girl, a cat lover, a pisces, a not-so-neat freak, and a do-it-yourself-er. She is obsessed with her garden and brakes for squirrels.

About this collection:
Title: La Mer
This new body of work is a personal celebration of the ocean. The briny deep. The open sea. The azure abyss. The imagery is inspired by the feelings It evokes - fear, wonder, clarity, joy, hope. As always, my work is also strongly influenced by my own childhood memories and the ones I strive to create for my own children.
It is my hope that these oil paintings will spark the young spirit within us all, an inner feeling of delight and awe in the infinite possibilities of imagination.
“The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless.” - Jean Jacques Rousseau

Just like the PBS series....
Format: Hardcover
This book is a step, or two, deeper into the 'wilderness years' than the PBS series by the same name. But frankly, the series, available on YouTube, is a better buy (it's free) for the money and quite entertaining due to its great casting with folks like Robert Hardy, Sian Phillips, and Eric Porter. But, if you're a reader, this book is worth the effort and cost.

Sooooo cute!!!
Format: Hardcover
I really enjoyed this story!! It shows that children are capable of great ideas and should be listened to! Also, that prejudice comes from all angles and that people will go to any lengths to prove their point, even if they do something wrong and malicious to prove it. Great children’s book and a book adults could definitely learn a thing or two from!! It was also much longer than I thought it would be which was a very nice surprise. Looking forward to the sequels!

This graphic novel for middle grades is full of cool kids and animals, with plenty of silly jokes, plus a great message about community and how kids can get involved in making change. The illustrations are great!
