How to install Eaton 5.5kW Single-Phase Monitored PDU with LX Platform Interface

Installing this PDU is a straightforward process designed to minimize downtime and maximize reliability. Follow these steps to ensure a safe, correct setup that unlocks full monitoring capabilities and optimal power distribution:

  • Plan the rack placement. Confirm there is adequate clearance for airflow around the PDU and access to its connection points. Ensure the 0U footprint aligns with the rack’s available space and that the L6-30P power circuit matches your facility’s electrical distribution.
  • Power down equipment temporarily if you are upgrading an existing rack 구성. Disconnect the existing power feeds and prepare to replace or install the new PDU in the intended rack space.
  • Mount the PDU in the rack. Align mounting holes with the rack rails and secure the unit firmly. Verify there is no strain on the L6-30P input connector or outlet cables once installed.
  • Connect the input power. Plug the L6-30P power cord into a compliant, rated 208/230V circuit. Ensure the circuit breaker and wiring are appropriate for the PDU’s maximum load to avoid nuisance trips.
  • Connect outlets to devices. Route server, storage, and network equipment cables to the 20 x C13 outlets and 4 x C19 outlets. Maintain good cable management to preserve airflow and simplify future maintenance.
  • Enable LX Platform Interface. Connect the PDU to your network as required by the LX Platform Interface guidelines. This connection will enable real‑time monitoring, alerting, and remote management from the Eaton LX ecosystem or compatible management systems.
  • Configure monitoring and alerts. Use the LX Platform Interface to set thresholds, notification channels, and alarm policies. Map outlets as needed for granular visibility and rapid fault isolation.
  • Test and verify. Power on the devices and verify that power is delivered to all connected equipment. Confirm that monitoring metrics populate correctly in the LX interface and that alerts trigger as configured.
  • Document the setup. Record the PDU’s location, circuit details, outlet mappings, and LX configuration for future maintenance and audits.

Love this!
Color: Black, Size: 15.7 inch, Color: Black, Size: 15.7 inch
I looked at dozens of similar shelves before settling on this one. Finally have something to fill the awkward space above the toilet. It was a little tricky to install by myself but definitely manageable. The only thing that could have made this better is if a template was included to help with making sure screw holes are level and spaced properly but it was simple enough to make one. This set was a little more than others that I looked at but I think it looks great, is solid quality. Definitely work the extra few dollars.

Cute shelf set!

Shelves look great in my room. Perfect amount of space to display my little travel trinkets. Super easy to install and seem to hold a good amount of weight as I have a Mason Jar full of sand/shells on one of them.

quality matches cost + instructions unnecessarily tedious
Color: Brown, Color: Brown
The material is real wood but don't assume that means quality - it's still very cheap feeling, and very lightweight. But once installed they are quite stable, and they look great from afar. I got a darker colored one and the stain does come off very easily. One of the shelves had a huge manufacturer sticker on it and it took off the stain when I removed it, and a bit of the stain also came off when I wiped the shelves down with a wet cloth. It'll be dry dusting from now on, I suppose. Also, they did not fit snugly into the corner - when one side is pushed flush to the wall, it forces the other side to pull away from the wall a little bit. It wasn't a drastic space, maybe like 1/8th of an inch, but it is still something to note. I am fine with the cheap quality as they are, after all, pretty cheap, so I'd say they are worth exactly as much as they cost. Personally I am happy with the purchase - just thought I'd warn. Secondly - if you want to follow the instructions exactly, you will need two people unless you have inhuman agility. But I also think the instructions were a bit asinine and tedious. They want you to line up the LOOSE shelf and brackets with a leveler to mark where the brackets go on the wall, then put in the wall screws, hang the brackets on them, balance the shelf on the brackets to mark on the SHELF where the brackets will be attached, take the brackets off the wall to screw them into the shelf, then put the combined shelf-bracket unit once again on the wall screws and finally screw those in tight. In hindsight, you can just mark where the brackets should go on the SHELF (not wall), screw the brackets into the shelves, THEN level the shelf on the wall and screw the whole unit into the wall together. We were really baffled why the instructions didn't have us do that instead of spending extra time (and frustration) trying to juggle all the loose pieces and tools. But I'm not engineer-minded, nor have I ever installed corner shelves before, so maybe there would be some kind of issue with doing it that way that I can't predict.
