The HPE StoreFabric SN6610C delivers cutting‑edge 32 Gbps Fibre Channel switching in a compact 8‑port form factor, purpose built for modern SANs. Engineered for midsize to large enterprise data centers, this switch provides high‑speed server‑to‑storage connectivity, deterministic latency, and scalable performance that aligns with today’s demanding workloads. With StoreFabric’s proven reliability, the SN6610C helps you consolidate I/O paths, accelerate data access, and simplify fabric management across diverse storage environments. This is a purpose‑built solution for storage networks that demand low latency, consistent throughput, and resilient operation—perfect for virtualization, databases, backups, and data‑intensive analytics. Whether you’re expanding an existing SAN or deploying a new fabric from the ground up, the SN6610C is crafted to maximize throughput while minimizing total cost of ownership.

  • Blazing 32 Gbps Fibre Channel performance per port drives ultra‑fast data transfers between servers and storage arrays. The SN6610C employs a non‑blocking fabric architecture to deliver predictable latency and sustained throughput, enabling high‑IOPS workloads, large‑scale backups, and mission‑critical databases to run with confidence in the SAN. With eight ports in a compact footprint, you gain the bandwidth you need without sacrificing density or reliability, making it ideal for rack‑level deployments that demand enterprise‑class performance.

  • Compact 8‑port design optimized for edge deployments, data center closets, and mid‑tier SANs. The SN6610C provides enterprise‑grade resilience in a compact switch, reducing space, power, and cabling requirements while maintaining the same level of performance as larger chassis‑based solutions. This form factor is perfect for growing organizations looking to extend their fabric incrementally, while preserving investment in existing optics, cabling, and storage infrastructure. The result is a scalable SAN that can adapt to evolving workloads without a complete rip‑and‑replace approach.

  • Flexible Short Wave SFP+ optics compatibility supports 16Gb‑class transceivers for versatile deployment options. The SN6610C is designed to work with a range of SFP+ modules, enabling you to tailor your fibre connectivity to your current infrastructure and future plans. This flexibility helps protect your SAN investment, simplifies migration paths from older FC environments, and reduces the need for costly overhauls when upgrading bandwidth or expanding the fabric. By supporting Short Wave SFP+ optics, the SN6610C aligns with common data‑center standards and provides a smooth path to higher capacities as your data grows.

  • Advanced fabric management and data‑protection features for security, zoning, and performance optimization. The SN6610C includes intelligent fabric controls, quality‑of‑service (QoS) capabilities, and robust error handling to minimize downtime and protect critical workloads. Its management interface supports CLI, SNMP, and a web‑based console for quick provisioning, inventory tracking, and proactive monitoring. These features help administrators optimize path selection, enforce security policies, and maintain peak SAN health with minimal overhead, enabling teams to respond rapidly to changing storage demands.

  • Seamless interoperability with the broader HPE StoreFabric portfolio and mainstream storage ecosystems. The SN6610C is designed to integrate with other StoreFabric switches, storage controllers, and servers, delivering consistent policy enforcement, unified fabric visibility, and simplified LUN management across the enterprise. This compatibility reduces vendor lock‑in, accelerates deployment timelines, and provides a stable, scalable fabric foundation that supports virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and data analytics initiatives. For organizations seeking a future‑proof SAN, the SN6610C offers a reliable path to rapid expansion and consistent performance.

How to Install HPE StoreFabric SN6610C

  • Prepare your environment: Confirm rack space, power capacity, and a clear cabling plan. Ensure you have approved 32 Gb/s Fibre Channel SFP+ modules and compatible cables for your storage systems and servers. Review any current zoning or security policies to align the installation with your SAN governance.

  • Rack mounting: Install the SN6610C in a standard 19‑inch rack, secure with screws, and verify adequate ventilation. Proper airflow helps maintain consistent performance and reliability in dense data center environments.

  • Connect to fabric: Insert the 32 Gb/s FC SFP+ optics into each port and connect to adjacent switches, HBAs, or storage controllers following your established topology. Keep cabling tidy and orderly to reduce crosstalk and simplify future maintenance or expansion.

  • Power on and initialize: Apply power, allow the device to boot, and access the management console via the console port or IP management interface. Begin with basic discovery to identify connected devices and build a foundational fabric map.

  • Configure fabric policies: Set up essential fabric parameters, enable necessary features (such as zoning and port security according to your SAN policy), and verify connectivity across multiple paths with test I/O. Validate failover behavior to confirm resilience in the event of a link or device failure.

  • Monitor and optimize: Use the management tools to monitor latency, throughput, error counters, and port utilization. Apply QoS policies, zoning rules, and regular health checks. Schedule firmware updates and keep a documented change log to track fabric evolution and ensure ongoing compatibility with connected storage and servers.

very nice brackets..very sturdy. Fits a 1x10 board perfect. Comes with everything you need and a.cool little level also. I loved them.so much I bought another pack and decided to add more shelves for my plants. It was easier to mount the shelf to the bracket then mount the whole shelf. Holds almost all my plants some are pretty heavy.

Well made brackets
Size: 11.25“, Color: black-6 pack, Size: 11.25“, Color: black-6 pack
These are nicely manufactured in that they are all exactly the same (with no variations) and with nice countersunk holes for the provided black flat head wood screws. I used a stained 1x12 #2 whitewood (Eastern Pine) from Lowes for the shelves. With these brackets solidly installed into wall studs at 32" on center (every other stud) the 1x12 shelf will easily support a heavy book load. I like the look better than the brackets that have the vertical leg below the shelf. It looks a lot cleaner. It is probably inevitable that your stud layout will result in a bracket or two needing to be installed between solid wood studs. In this case, do NOT use the sheetrock wall anchors provided with the brackets as they will pull out of the wall under an appreciable load. Instead, get some "Snaptoggle" toggle bolts and replace the provided bolts with #10-24 x 1.25" flat head machine screws in black. These toggle bolts are incredibly strong and easy to install. I am adding a postscript to my review regarding bracket spacing recommendations. With a heavy book load, the 1x12 shelf boards don't sag with the brackets spaced 32" apart, however I have found that the brackets themselves are overstressed by about 30% (they are only rated at 80# each.) Heavy books weigh up to about 36# per lineal foot so the maximum spacing of the brackets should be 24" apart. At 32" apart, they won't pull out of the wall if they are fastened into studs but they will sag a little bit back to front under this load. So I added additional brackets in between the installed brackets and now they are 16" apart at the heavy book shelf. The load on each bracket is now less than 50# but they STILL sag about 3/16" from back to front when loaded with books! No danger of structural failure and the sag is not really noticeable.
