It uses the remote control that came with your mini split air-conditioner to “learn” how to change the setpoints on the mini-split. Just about any brand of mini-split unit can be controlled by the Beta-1. Once the Beta-1 learns the signals from your remote controller, it will automatically change the setpoint on the mini-split to two separate Day and Night temperatures. It does this AUTOMATICALLY by using a small IR (infrared) emitter / sending unit that will send the same signal to the mini split, as the remote control would normally send.
The remote controller’s teach & learn process takes about 5 minutes. Once remote-control programming is complete, the user simply selects the day and night temperature settings they want to use on the Beta-1 control panel. A built-in photocell / light sensor will determine when it is Day and Night. The Beta-1 will then activate (send a signal to the mini-split unit) to go to the correct temperature setpoint based on the photocell status.
The Beta-1 unit can be mounted anywhere inside the area to be controlled as long as the unit is positioned to that the photocell on the front of the Beta-1 receives enough light to detect when it is Daytime. The IR emitter is then mounted in a position so that it has a direct line of sight to the mini-split indoor air-handler unit in order to send the IR signal to the mini-split unit.
The Beta-1’s temperature sensor provides a clear temperature reading of the current temperature inside the area being controlled, as well as the current temp setting selected. The temperature sensor will also constantly monitor and re-send the IR signal to the mini-split if the Beta-1 does not detect the temperature changing.
The Beta-1 can be set to cool only, heat only, or cooling AND heating depending on the mini-split unit’s capabilities. The Beta-1 is easy to use, reliable and effective at providing separate Day and Night temperature settings for your mini-split air conditioner.
Note: The BETA-1 is currently not compatible with the following brands of devices: Daiken, Mr. Cool, Innovair, Cooper and Hunter.

Feels cheap, but hard to complain at this price

This keyboard definitely looks and feels very budget, and the plastic construction makes that obvious right away. The whole board has a strong plastic feel, and if you twist it even a little bit, you can hear the frame making plastic creaking noises. It doesn’t exactly feel sturdy or premium.
The key feel is also pretty mediocre. The keys feel a bit mushy and not very satisfying to type on. If you’re used to better keyboards or mechanical ones, the typing experience here will probably feel pretty underwhelming.
That said, I can’t be too harsh on it. This is a very cheap keyboard, and for the price it does the basic job. It connects easily over Bluetooth with no lag, and it even comes with the AAA batteries included. So it’s still a decent value for a simple everyday keyboard. Four stars feels fair for what it is.

As long as longevity isn’t required

Love this keyboard, I chose the ProtoArc EM11 NL Bluetooth Ergonomic Mouse to go with it. Could not be more pleased with quality and heft of the keyboard specially at the price point. Whisper silent and easy to pair. Excellent choice.

Had to come back and downgrade to 1 star. Keyboard quit on me after 3 months. Phantom keystrokes, like I was holding down one letter. It was a slow burn until I couldn’t take it anymore. Thought it was a one off. Replaced the batteries etc. If you just need something for a month or so while waiting or saving for something better, go for it. Totally fits the ‘you get what you pay for’ idiom.

Great Keyboard

I bought the keyboard only, because I already had the bluetooth mouse. This is a very good keyboard. I was concerned when ordering that the keys maybe be mushy without having seen a display, but I've not found them to be so at all. The keys do not click loudly like every other keyboard I've ever used, but the keys are every bit responsiveness and snap like others. After using it a couple hours, I don't really notice the lack of clicking . . . and found it actually does have its own distinct muffled sound.

Well Worth the Money

I bought this keyboard after my last bluetooth one crapped out. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, and it's not. But it is comfortable, and I like the way the keys feel. Honestly, I even like the way it looks.
The only downside is that one of the control buttons near the shift button will erase an entire sentence or two if it is accidently touched. That's annoying, but not enough for me to give it a four star.
It's fairly quiet. I actually like the way it sounds.
I use it every day, sometimes for a couple of hours. The batteries are going strong.
I am glad I didn't go for a more expensive option. It doesn everything I want it to.
It's compatible with my tablet and connects right away. I don't even have to reconnect it every time. I just start tapping the keys and it is ready to go fairly quickly.
Over all, this is a great value for your money. I highly reccommend it.
