The Blessings of Obedience : The Story of North America Indian Ministries by William W. LottisIt has been said that beauty is only skin deep. But after spending the past forty seven years involved in the work of God through North America Indian Ministries, I've come to believe that God is at work in this world creating profound beauty. "In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3: 6 There is great beauty in the fulfilment of that Biblical truth. It has been said that beauty is only skin deep. But after spending the past forty-seven years involved in the work of God through North America Indian Ministries, I've come to believe that God is at work in this world creating profound beauty.
"In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
—Proverbs 3:6
There is great beauty in the fulfilment of that Biblical truth. To witness people who respond to God's voice in obedience, and then do the humanly impractical, improbable and even impossible that follows is one of the blessings of being in a ministry dependent on God.
As you read through these pages, I want you to meet ordinary people who achieved extraordinary results by simply being obedient to God and, in so doing, produced the most demonstrable beauty of all... changed lives.
This story tells of an unknown teenager who witnessed to a friend, producing a chain of events that has touched thousands. It includes another whose life ended on a mountaintop, setting off a series of life-changing incidents, the results of which continue on to this day.
It includes the transformation of a war ship to a gospel ship. It includes the story of many ordinary people who simply realized that following God is a daily act of obedience and, as a result, have become part of God's great panoramic mural painting of changed lives around the world. And the beauty is that the story continues today and it can include you tomorrow. So, as you read, listen for God's whisper.
