The Furman M-8Dx Merit X Series 8 Outlet Power Conditioner is a low-cost AC power solution for rack mount systems. Install an M-8Dx in the top slot of your rack, and the eight switched AC outlets in the rear panel will power up and protect all your equipment, up to a 15A load. The M-8Dx features a digital bright red, 3digit LED voltmeter that displays the incoming line voltage from 60 to 150 VAC (accuracy +/- 2 VAC). It also includes two pull-out light tubes for rack illumination, with dimmer control. M-Series conditioners protect your delicate electronic equipment by combining high voltage varistor (MOV) surge and transient suppressors. The fast-acting suppression circuit quickly responds, and clamps transient voltages to safe levels. An RFI/EMI interference filter works to prevent noise from fluorescent lights, certain dimmers, radio transmitters, and similar sources of "electronic pollution" from contaminating the AC line, and from there leaking into sensitive audio, video, or computer circuits.

The rear outlets have been spaced to accomodate even the bulkiest of wall warts and adapters.
A circuit breaker is provided on the rear panel. If the total load on the Power Conditioner (combining all outlets) exceeds the 15A (or 1800W limit), the circuit breaker will trip. It may be easily reset by pushing in a button.
A convenient master switch for the rear outlets which glows when the power is on. There is a separate "Rack Lights" switch for the lamps, plus a dimmer control knob which regulates the lamps' brightness.
Standard level filtration from radio frequencies and electromagnetic interference.
Operating Voltage: 90 to 140 VAC

Wise Advice for the College-Bound Student
Format: Kindle
I read this book after reading Newport's other study guide How to Become a Straight A Student and was looking forward to more of his easy to understand, quickly read nuggets of wisdom. Although I found the advice in his previous book to be more helpful, I did fine some words of advice that I will surely put to use in my upcoming semester. Among the gems I found, Newport reminds students to "Study in Fifty-Minute Chunks" and "Learn to Listen." In these short chapters there are ideas to help the student better utilize their time by minimizing distractions and knowing exactly what to listen for in a lecture. By far my favorite and most memorable line from this book is "A good analogy is that writing is to a college student what shooting hoops is to a basketball player." Wise advice indeed. I would recommend this book to high school an college students alike. The chapters are short and jam packed with good advice.

Good for some
Format: Paperback
Good advice but it's written for college students that don't work. Not for someone who goes to night school like I do.

An excellent story well worth a read
Format: Kindle
This was so well written, I loved every second of it. It was a lovely take on vampires and what they are or can be. Spoilers: This wasn’t an easy read for me. How Miyako’s parents acted… that was my parents only worse in a lot of ways and only better in that they never hit me as an adolescent. So reading this brought up memories of the abuse I suffered. Even so, it is a really good story and I highly recommend. I hope to read more of her stories soon and follow Miyako and see how she and her family grow as characters.
