Scott is a fourth generation gem and jewelry professional with experience as an independent appraiser, gemologist, jewelry buyer, pawnbroker, and expert witness. In addition to having performed appraisal services for both private clients and those within the trade, he has also been engaged as a subcontractor to assist with the valuation of jewelry and watches that have been confiscated by US government agencies, including the US Secret Service (USSS), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the US Coast Guard (USCG).

Spinel is a wonderful gem that occurs naturally in many different colors, even colorless. The most valued spinel colors are red, cobalt blue, vivid pink and orange, with the finest qualities rivaling high quality rubies and sapphires.
This wonderful 2.59 carat natural purplish pink spinel is accompanied by GIA Spinel Report #1216647697 stating it has not been heated. Its vivid pink hue resembles that of fine quality pink sapphire. The appearance of the inclusions located within the gem prove it to be natural and unheated.

Yeesss...
Such a lovely soft lavender! Cooling and soft and wonderful. I sleep hot and have night sweats (post menopause is a witch!), but this little comforter kept me cool and dry.
I did notice that it wasn't effective with a top sheet underneath it. You really need it to be directly on the skin for the cooling effect. Besides this (and the price) I have no regrets. Will definitely buy again, if it goes on sale.
