The EAW MK8126i BLACK is a high-performance 300W passive 2-way portable loudspeaker designed to deliver exceptional sound quality and clarity, setting a new standard for compact two-way loudspeakers. Despite its small size, this speaker outperforms many traditional compact systems, thanks to its advanced design and superior acoustic engineering. Ideal for a variety of professional applications, the MK8126i BLACK is an excellent choice for installations in smaller venues such as corporate A/V systems, houses of worship, auditoriums, meeting rooms, and more. It can also be used effectively in distributed audio systems and as a fill speaker in larger spaces.

The MK8126i BLACK features a powerful 8-inch low-frequency (LF) transducer with a 2-inch voice coil and a vented enclosure for optimal bass response. The high-frequency (HF) transducer is a 1-inch exit, 1.4-inch voice coil compression driver loaded onto a custom-designed constant directivity (CD) horn. This design enhances the speaker's pattern control, providing uniform sound coverage with a nominal beamwidth of 120° horizontally and 60° vertically. The large HF horn allows for pattern control lower into the midrange, ensuring that the horn's pattern overlaps with the woofer's pattern in the critical crossover area, eliminating off-axis voids often found in traditional two-way loudspeakers. This feature delivers a smooth, even response across the entire listening area.

To further optimize the performance, the MK8126i BLACK incorporates an advanced beamwidth-matching crossover system. This system carefully selects the crossover point to ensure that the transition between the LF and HF drivers occurs precisely where their coverage patterns align. This eliminates the beamwidth mismatch that can create gaps in coverage, leading to voids in sound, particularly in the critical crossover region. The passive crossover/filter network uses complex asymmetrical slopes to integrate the subsystems, providing excellent signal division and performing critical equalization functions that improve the overall sound quality.

With a wide operating range of 65 Hz to 19 kHz, the MK8126i BLACK is capable of delivering clear and balanced sound across a wide frequency spectrum. The loudspeaker offers a maximum SPL of 130 dB (12 dB crest factor) and 124 dB (6 dB crest factor), ensuring that it can handle high-output applications without distortion or loss of clarity. This makes it an ideal solution for both background and foreground sound reinforcement in a variety of environments.

The MK8126i BLACK is built for versatility and ease of installation. Its user-rotatable horn allows for the "rotate the enclosure around the horn" option, enabling the speaker to be mounted vertically or horizontally depending on the needs of the space. Additionally, the speaker comes equipped with a U-bracket for easy mounting in a variety of installation scenarios. The robust construction features exterior-grade Baltic birch plywood, ensuring durability while maintaining excellent acoustic performance. The speaker is finished in a sleek, wear-resistant black paint, providing a professional look that blends seamlessly with any installation environment.

Overall, the EAW MK8126i BLACK offers superior sound performance, flexibility, and reliability for a wide range of professional audio applications. Its compact size, advanced acoustic design, and versatile mounting options make it an excellent choice for installations where space is limited but high-quality sound is essential.

Amazing
Format: Paperback
It’s very academic—what I mean by that is that if you need to be well-educated in psychology to GRASP *everything*… I am not well-educated in psychology (I minored in it and love reading easier books on it), but I LOVE this book. This woman is brilliant

This book is transformative in how I view everything. There are two categories: people who need to read this book and people who need to read it again.

Started w/ audiobook, now I'm ordering the print too
Format: Paperback
This book is GREAT!! The integration of theory she uses to support her claims is masterful. I began listening to the audiobook, because it was cheaper & I go through a ton of counseling & psych books. I am a grad student in social work, and I'm also a therapy client trying to heal myself. I appreciate that this book targets "chronic shame" which as a central experience to a bunch of issues. The hundreds of books and articles I've researched seem like they were mostly ALL working back to this issue. In a psychology culture that is big on cognitive and chemical solutions to mental health, the relational approach that she emphasizes is critical to the healing process. I appreciate the research she uses from object relations, affect regulation, interpersonal, etc. I purchased the hard copy because 1. I can't underline/highlight an audiobook and 2. I want a copy of the references of theorists and study's that she draws from, because they are pure gold. All therapists need to understand the contents of this book! Unless you are perfectly fine offering band aid solutions. Clients and self-helpers beware. It's not triggering in terms of content, it is activating in the sense that she describes the felt experience of shame SO WELL. I could locate my own felt sense of shame which is, by default, unpleasant. Some stabilization and a decent therapeutic connection is probably necessary before cracking this book open. But that's why I love it. I needed to go deeper and get the core issues. And this book is like a map that guides you right to it.
