What if Brian Wilson, Arthur Lee, Elliot Smith, Ralf Hütter, Eliades Ochoa, Nino Rota and Ennio Morriconi went on a vision quest to Peru and brought a 4-track with them? What if they hung out and jammed with Los Wembler's de Iquitos at an itinerant circus in the jungle, bumped into Alejandro Jodorowski in the midst of filming a lost epic in the Temple of The Sun at Machu Picchu, and were abducted (along with their tapes) by a sexy alien piloting a glowing UFO? Curious? Then come with C.A.M.P.O.S. on an audio journey to find out what that could sound like. C.A.M.P.O.S. is the new project from multi-talented multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer Joshua Camp, aka Juan Campos (Chicha Libre, One Ring Zero, Litvakus as well as sideman for Los Crema Paraiso and others). C.A.M.P.O.S. stands for: Cumbias And More Psychedelic Original Sounds; but you have to sit down and listen to these two records in their entirety to grasp it's meaning fully. From lo-fi experiments to lush soundscapes, field recordings to dancefloor ditties, stories of love and war, slavery, revelation, redemption, temptation, ruin, rebirth, and through it all, the healing power of music seen through the steamy lens of magic-realism. A mutual friend, pianist Marlysse Simmons (Bio Ritmo, Miramar), encouraged Peace & Rhythm to inquire with Mr. Camp about a cache of unreleased recordings in his archives. Amazingly, these tracks were tunes that had been shelved or left on the cutting room floor from past years. Recordings that either never got finished, came from other incomplete projects, were rejected demos for previous albums, or were slated for an upcoming but never recorded release. Once Joshua realized how excited Peace & Rhythm was by this pool of unreleased music, he tweaked and tinkered with some, fleshed out others that were mostly bare bones, revamped others that he had always wanted to get to but had not really had the validation, right context, or time to complete. A refugee group of orphaned, discarded and under-fed recordings, seen for what they could be: an imaginary travelogue, an accidental concept album of psychedelic tropical Americana. My dog is a very aggressive chewer.

My dog is an aggressive chewer and this lasted about 3 weeks before he started to get into the plastic and I had to throw away. It lasted longer than other chew toys so it was good. However the tail makes it easier for him to chew off into pieces. He gets nervous and needs to chew on something. I find the hard cheese sticks a better option for his nervousness.

Fun Dog Toy, Relatively Durable, Looks Great, and Squeaker Isn't Annoying!

This is a fun and well-made dog toy that’s held up better than expected, especially considering my dog usually makes quick work of stuffed toys. He’s not the most aggressive chewer, but he’s definitely skilled at tearing things up over time, and this one is still going strong so far. The plush armadillo design is adorable and comes in a variety of color options, which is a nice bonus. It has your standard fluff type filling, and I really appreciate that the squeaker has more of that low grunting sound (like a pig), rather than a sharp, high-pitched one. It’s much less annoying to listen to during playtime. The 10" size was just right for my 45 lb dog, offering a good size for tugging and carrying around. Comfortable to hold, seemingly durable so far, and cute design. Seems to be a winner, would recommend!

Perfect size, cute, reasonably durable, and my dog loves it.

I ordered this for my 2year old, 55lb Staffy Pitt mix. She’s usually pretty rough on toys. She seems to either destroy them after 15 minutes, or, in a few instances, decides that she likes them enough to treat them more gently, in which they last for months or longer. I have no idea how she chooses, but in this case, she pretty much immediately ripped off part of an ear, but then, and since that time, has played and chewed on it without causing further damage. The toy is pretty adorable and looks and feels well made. It’s not constructed with a super durable material like some toys made for aggressive chewers are, but it’s also not marketed as a toy for aggressive chewers, so the material used is appropriate. The fabric feels dense and of a high quality, and the stitching looks to be of a high quality as well. I chose the 8-inch version in pink, and I’m happy with this size. It’s not too big, nor too small, and is easily portable. It arrived smashed up in a small bag, and I thought maybe it would be deformed when I took it out, but it wasn’t. It unfolded right away and then maintained its normal shape perfectly. Happy with this product, and after receiving it, I ended up ordering another, this time the 6-inch version, and while that is also a nice option, I like, and feel that the 8-inch version is a better deal. If this toy continues to last for a few more months, I would order another one, as my dog enjoys playing with it. It’s not her go to toy, but it is one of the few she keeps in playing rotation on a regular basis.

Luxurious Feel, Durable Build… but Full Rotation Privileges Have Been Revoked 💙🦴 🐾

🐾 Hi, I’m PVD; toy curator, plush critic & occasional chew sommelier.
This armadillo arrived beautifully packaged and immediately met my standards for texture, squeak clarity and cuddle factor. I originally gave it 5 stars for quality; and still do! But today I’m updating the review to reflect my current toy lifestyle rotation. 😌
What impressed me from day one:
✔️ High-end plush feel; soft enough to nap on, tough enough for energetic zoom bites and great relief from teething
✔️ Strong stitching; survived multiple “stress tests” (I chewed with intention)
✔️ HQ squeaker; not tinny or annoying, more of a honk
✔️ 6in is perfect size for small breeds; easy to carry during dramatic hallway walks
Why it now gets 4 stars from a seasoned toy collector:
✘ As my luxury toy collection expanded, this one gets grabbed less often
✘ Simple design; I now favor more interactive or complex textures
✘ Still “keep-worthy,” just no longer VIP spot on the chaise lounge
Best For:
• Pups who enjoy soft comfort toys or emotional support snuggles
• Light to moderate chewers
• Dogs who like to carry their plushes around proudly
• Ideal as a teething toy or thoughtful gift
🚫 Not ideal for: power chewers or highly stimulation-driven pups (like me now; my taste evolved)
