Sometimes, life gifts us with unexpected moments. Painting Prayer Guardian was one of those times—when Heaven peeked down and engulfed me in love.

Halfway through the painting, I was interrupted and had to step away. When I returned, I froze, completely stunned. The face looking back at me was hers—one I had seen before, but only for an instant. I stood there and cried as healing poured into my heart.

Twenty-six years ago, I was pregnant with my first child. One night, I was woken from sleep, and in that place between dreaming and waking, I saw the most beautiful angelic figure smiling down at me.The experience filled me with light and love, but it also left me puzzled. Why had I been given such a moment?

A few days later, I miscarried. In that devastating moment, I understood—this angelic figure was my child’s soul, leaving her physical body. For years, I carried that experience in my heart, not even sharing it with my husband. But now, standing before the canvas, her beautiful face looking back at me, I knew it was time to tell this story.

Heaven is not far from us. It surrounds us, encircles us, and holds us in love. There are angels of every kind—offering strength, protection, guidance, comfort, and most of all, love. We have guardians who love us completely, stand close, and pray for us.
