By: Anna Bradley | Series: Cairncross CastleThree unusually gifted sisters in Georgian Scotland must protect their family fortress from those who would steal its rumored treasures—and their hearts—in this sweeping, adventure-filled, new historical romance series for readers of India Holton, Lex Crocher, Manda Collins, and Evie Dunmore.
In the months since their father, Rory, died, the MacLeod sisters have had to contend with bands of smugglers convinced he left a treasure buried within the walls of their home at Castle Cairncross. Only the most mystifying occurrences have foiled the thieves—stirring whispers that the sisters are sorceresses. Yet, they have no treasure, nor are they witches. However, each inexplicably possesses a unique ability. The eldest, Catriona, is a brilliant healer and alchemist—a skill she is about to put to unforeseen use . . .
Hamish Muir, the charismatic Marquess of Ballantyne and son of Rory’s business partner, has come to claim his share of the treasure. When he spies fiery-haired Cat in the village, he follows her. But the tables turn, and Hamish finds himself at Castle Cairncross—emerging from a daze . . .
Persuaded the castle harbors no treasure, Hamish remains certain Rory hid it somewhere. Cat offers a proposal: She will help Hamish decipher her father’s notes if he takes her on the treasure hunt with him—and her sisters are not left alone. Reluctantly, Hamish summons two Lairds to the castle. But as he and Cat set off to navigate a maze of maps and danger, a mutual respect—and attraction—ignites between them. Perhaps the real treasure isn’t gold after all . . .

Most Useful and Applicable Toddler Book I’ve Found
Format: Kindle
Goodwin’s series continues to be one of my favorite parenting tools I’ve found. While my toddler loves the images and messaging, Goodwin’s applicable and usable tip list in the back of her books is the secret sauce that sets her apart. A must for caregivers of young children!

Perfect toddler book for teaching big emotions and calm down techniques in a simple, visual way
Format: Board book, Format: Board book
What I received / first impressions:
This is a picture book written for toddlers and young children that walks through what big emotions feel like, where you feel them in your body, and what to do when they show up. It is written in a way that is easy for kids to follow along with a parent and includes practical techniques they can actually use in the moment.
What I liked:
- Perfectly written for young kids: The language and pacing are just right for toddlers to stay engaged and understand without getting lost.
- Teaches body awareness around emotions: I love that it helps children recognize where in their body they feel emotions, which is such a foundational skill for emotional regulation.
- Covers a full range of emotions: It addresses big feelings that come from both difficult and happy moments, and acknowledges that emotions show up differently for everyone which is an important and inclusive message.
- Interactive and easy to practice at home: This is something you can do together as a family, not just read and set aside. The techniques are simple enough for little ones to actually try.
- Parent tips included in the back: The added section for parents on how to integrate the techniques into daily life is a thoughtful bonus that makes this more than just a read-aloud.
- Great addition alongside other behavior books: We are fans of the Best Behavior series like Teeth Are Not for Biting and Hands Are Not for Hitting and this fits right in alongside those in both tone and approach.
What I didn't like / concerns:
Nothing. This book delivered exactly what we needed and then some.
Who I think this is best for:
- Parents of toddlers and young children looking for a practical, visual tool for emotional regulation
- Families who already enjoy behavior and feelings books and want to add to their collection
- Anyone looking for a book they can actively use with their child rather than just read to them
- Teachers or caregivers working with young children on identifying and managing big emotions
Bottom line:
This book has genuinely helped us work through big emotions at home in a way our child can understand and participate in. It is visual, approachable, and gives both kids and parents real tools to use together. We are so glad we found it and it has earned a permanent spot in our regular reading rotation.
Would I buy again?
Yes, and would gift it to other parents of young children without hesitation.

Toddlerhood is a journey you should enjoy
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Toddlerhood is a completely different game from the newborn or the curious infant. But it's not just "the terrible twos," or the throw down to the ground tantrums. It's learning and doing so together and finding joy every day. As a single mom, i was looking for parenting advice and books and felt like I was continuously getting let down. I liked a little from a couple of different topics, but it felt like no one was really connecting to what I wanted to represent. I read the book transforming toddlerhood, and was so happy. Not only does the book have great advice, but actual real situation suggestions and free available resources you can download and use. My coparent and I have both read it. We love that you can do sections at a time, the easy and relatable language and small laughs of how on point Devon is. Really the only toddler parenting book you need!
