A stunning celebration of rarity and natural beauty, this extraordinary necklace combines two of the ocean’s most treasured organic gems: precious coral and a natural Tridacna pearl.

Tridacna pearls are among the rarest natural pearls in existence.  They are formed by the Tridacna gigas, also known as the Giant Clam—the largest living bivalve mollusk on Earth.  These gentle giants dwell in the warm, shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific, where they can live for over a century, growing up to 4 feet wide and weighing more than 400 pounds.  Their pearls are non-nacreous, known for a porcelaneous glow and, in exceptional cases, an elusive flame structure—a silky, chatoyant pattern that shimmers beneath the surface in certain lighting.

Sourced from living coral polyps that once thrived in tropical waters, precious coral ranges in color from soft pink to deep red.  Once the coral polyp dies, its skeleton hardens into a durable, polishable material with a waxy luster.  The rarest and most valuable specimens fall within the red to pink color spectrum, highly prized for both their beauty and historical use in fine jewelry.

This magnificent, one-of-a-kind opera-length necklace features 293 graduated beads of natural precious coral, radiating warmth and elegance.  The strands are secured with a custom-designed 18K white gold starfish clasp, pavé set with approximately 3.00 carats of fine quality round brilliant cut diamonds (G color, VS clarity).  At the center of the starfish lies the crown jewel:  a 17.71 carat natural Tridacna pearl, exhibiting striking eye-visible flame patterning—a true rarity.
