Meet the Epson PowerLite 520, a refurbished 4:3 XGA short-throw projector designed to bring engaging lessons and sharp presentations into any classroom. Built for reliable, everyday use, this compact projector leverages Epson’s renowned 3LCD technology to deliver vibrant, accurate color and crisp detail. With 3x Brighter Colors versus many competitive models, educators can illuminate charts, diagrams, and multimedia content with confidence, even in rooms that aren’t perfectly dark. The PowerLite 520 is purpose-built for education—easy to set up, simple to operate, and crafted to withstand the rigors of daily classroom use. If you’re seeking an economical, dependable projector that fits smaller spaces while still producing a sizable image, this refurbished unit is a compelling choice that balances performance and value.

  • Vibrant color and clarity with Epson 3LCD — Enjoy consistently bright, true-to-life images thanks to Epson’s three-chip LCD technology, which minimizes color asynchrony and delivers smooth, realistic visuals across presentations, videos, and images.
  • Short-throw design for flexible classrooms — A compact short-throw throw ratio enables large projection from a short distance, reducing shadows and glare while keeping the projector safely out of students’ sightlines.
  • XGA resolution for reliable classroom detail — Native XGA (1024x768) resolution provides crisp text, legible diagrams, and clear classroom content that students can follow from anywhere in the room.
  • Bright enough for everyday teaching — With up to 2700 color lumens, the PowerLite 520 delivers readable, vivid images in standard classroom lighting, helping information stand out without needing a darkened environment.
  • Certified refurbished value — Each unit has been professionally refurbished and tested to meet Epson performance standards, offering a budget-friendly path to reliable projection without sacrificing quality.

How to install Epson PowerLite 520 LCD Projector

  • Choose a stable mounting or tabletop placement that aligns with your screen or projection surface. For classrooms, position the projector so the image lands cleanly on the whiteboard or screen with minimal keystone distortion, taking advantage of the short-throw capability to keep shadows away from the projection area.
  • Connect your video source using the projector’s available inputs. A laptop, document camera, or media player can drive the content; ensure the source is powered on and set to output a signal compatible with the projector's input(s).
  • Power on the projector and the video source. Use the projector’s focus and (if available) Zoom controls to finalize a sharp, properly sized image. If the image looks trapezoidal, employ keystone correction to align it with the screen edges for a square picture.
  • Adjust image quality for daylight or classroom lighting. Increase contrast and brightness judiciously to maintain image clarity without washing out details, especially when presenting text-heavy slides or fine diagrams.
  • Secure the setup and perform a quick test. Walk around the room to verify that every seat has a clear view, and test a slide with small fonts, charts, and color-heavy content to confirm legibility from the back of the room.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the Epson PowerLite 520 best used for? It’s designed for classrooms and small-to-medium presentation spaces where space is limited, offering a reliable, color-rich display of lessons, slides, and multimedia content on a 4:3 screen or whiteboard.
  • What does refurbished mean for this projector? Refurbished indicates the unit has been professionally inspected, repaired if needed, cleaned, and tested to ensure it meets performance standards before resale. It often includes a warranty from the refurbisher and represents a cost-effective alternative to new units.
  • Can this projector handle color-rich content? Yes. With 2700 color lumens and Epson’s 3LCD technology, color content (charts, diagrams, images) appears vivid and easy to distinguish, even in moderately lit classrooms.
  • Is short-throw projection useful in small classrooms? Absolutely. Short-throw design allows a large image from a short distance, which minimizes shadows from students and makes it easier for the teacher to present while standing at the front of the room.
  • Will it work with my devices? The PowerLite 520 is designed for compatibility with common classroom devices (laptops, tablets, media players) through its standard input options. Check your source’s output settings to ensure proper resolution and signal type for the clearest image.
  • What installation considerations should I keep in mind? Plan for stable power and secure mounting or placement, ensure proper ventilation, and position the screen or whiteboard for easy viewing from all seating areas. Regularly clean the air filters and check for dust accumulation to maintain brightness and image quality.

Slow, sorry but good
Format: Kindle
This was a slow moving book. Lots of character pov chapters, lots of superfluous descriptions and endless courtly appearances stalled this book to start. Once you get into the heart of the story, it takes off. Before you know it the book is done. My favorite character is Reyna. She is so strong. She is true to herself. She gets into a lot of trouble with her headstrong ways but it's entertaining. I have high hopes for Lorcan. He is honorable to a fault. Thane had turned out to be better than I thought but i still don't like him. Eislin is useless. Great plot twists at the end. I'm looking forward too book 2.

Very detailed! Beautiful world building! Strong Heroine!
Format: Kindle
Starts off a little slow and confusing with different POV’s, but starts to all come together towards the middle to make an elaborate plot line and makes it all worth it. Beautiful world building and attention to detail as well as great writing. The cliffhanger was gut wrenching! Can’t wait for the next book!

Interesting
Format: Kindle
This was a very captivating book once you got into it thoroughly. But the third person perspective was a bit hard to get used to. But as you got into it and followed the different characters, it was interesting and filled with intrigue, conflict and forbidden love. I can’t wait to read the next one and to complete the series.

OUTSTANDING
Format: Kindle
This was very, very good. The world is vast and characters are complex. There is a good plot with a whole lot going on. This is well written. Good twists and turns and some heart breaking moments. You will love these characters, they have heart and loyalty. I am hoping that there will be several more books. We've yet to see anything from the Sea Court but only a mention of them here and there. The Wood Court was given a quick couple of scenes, and only as far as some warriors, we've yet to enter their court and the Shadow Court, I'm not sure if they will be a force for good or bad, but they definitely will play a much bigger role moving forward. This is primarily the Ice and Air Courts. Told in multiple views, which I loved, it gives you a chance to see things from different eyes. There's alot of political maneuvering and deception. I loved it and will pick up the next book as it becomes available. If you like The Fae and the courts, you should love this. I think the author has mucn in store for us.

Definitely worth the read!
Format: Kindle
After taking a deep breath and taking in that wicked twist of an ending, I have finally composed myself. My first thought when I started this book was that I love Reyna's character. I was intrigued by her connection with her familiar and the Ruin that is plaguing her land. It came as no surprise that she took her sister's place in an attempt to protect her. When they reach the Air Court everything slows down. This is where it was iffy for me. First of all, I like multiple POV's in books however 7 is a bit much. It starts to interrupt the story line. I felt like I was finally making progress connecting with one character, then it was switched to another person. I felt they all had necessary or pertinent information but not necessarily were they all POV worthy. The only other thing that annoyed me was that Reyna constantly was " trapped." She would rush off without thinking, only to need rescuing. She is brilliant in a fight, but she really doesn't think through anything. Lorcan is amazing. I know he might be on the "bad" list, but his background is so interesting. Eislyn(Reyna's sister) is really so sweet, but calculating. I enjoyed her and Thane's dialogue. The author did an amazing job with the imagery in this book. Everything was so detailed it was easy to fall into the scene. I love unexpected twists and while part of the ending I expected, I wasn't expecting how it took place. All in all, I found it very entertaining and I am very invested in continuing this series. Favorite quotes: "The truth may be twisted but never false." "Who was she if she was not the enemy of the Air Court? What was her purpose of she no longer has that?" "In a war-torn land, love was always a lie."
