It's rare to find one with no damage on the fragile metal spikes and this one has fared very well, with only one spike showing a little bend. The mirror retains the original factory gilt paint finish. The original cardboard back has at some point been replaced so no longer has the makers stamp.

Chaty Vallauris was a French design and manufacturing company based in Provence, France during the 1950s and 60s. They produced decorative metal-framed mirrors, with the sunburst style their iconic legacy. The rope detail that borders the mirror plate is a signature design feature of their pieces, as are the elegant 'rays' that extend outwards at all angles.

This is a wonderful piece of iconic Mid-Century design.
