Turmeric the Dragon loved stories, especially stories about dragons. The trouble was his parents didn’t like telling them much. “Stories always end badly for us Dragons,” said his father. But Turmeric didn’t believe him, so he set off to find out for himself.
Down in the village, Pip loved to tell stories. Her absolute favourite ones were about dragons. The problem was they always got her into trouble. After an unexpected meeting, Turmeric and Pip find themselves in their very own dragon story.
Madeline Pinkerton’s warm, classical-looking illustrations perfectly combine with a wonderful story about bravery, following your own path, and friendship.
About the Author
Madeline is an illustrator living in Edinburgh, Scotland. She studied at Edinburgh College of Art where she spent her final year developing picture book ideas - one of which became this book! She has always been inspired by mythical creatures - identifying particularly with dragons - and spent much of her childhood running across the countryside pretending to be one. After graduating with a first-class degree in Illustration, Madeline was an Artist in Residence at Dumfries House, returning to Edinburgh to work part-time and continue her Illustration. She has had a variety of jobs - one of her favourites was running a craft club for children at a library. She currently works as an After School Playworker for a primary school, where she is continually inspired by the many children around her.
