The Black Box FiberPath Receiver (Without Power Supply) is a rugged, high-performance video receiver designed to extend your display capabilities over fiber. Built to work with standard simplex multimode fiber, it delivers clear color or black-and-white video over distances up to 1.5 miles (2.4 km), making it an ideal choice for large-format information displays, digital signage, and security systems that demand reliable long-distance signaling. With a focus on simplicity and compatibility, this receiver integrates smoothly into existing FiberPath deployments, allowing you to upgrade or expand your visual network without complex wiring or power-delivery challenges.

  • Video signaling over fiber with dependable clarity: The FiberPath Receiver transmits color or black-and-white video across long distances—up to 1.5 miles (2.4 km)—using standard simplex multimode fiber. This capability is especially valuable for campus-wide signage, outdoor information boards, and security displays where direct copper runs would be impractical or cost-prohibitive. The receiver is engineered to preserve image fidelity across the link, reducing softening or distortion that can occur with longer runs and helping your audience see precise, legible content from a distance.
  • Seamless integration within the FiberPath ecosystem: Designed to pair with existing FiberPath transmitters and related components, this receiver simplifies deployment in both new builds and upgrades. Its compatibility with typical signage displays and monitoring panels means fewer interface issues and shorter installation times. By leveraging a consistent signaling format across devices, you can scale your network with confidence, knowing the receiver will deliver predictable performance alongside the rest of your FiberPath hardware.
  • Durable, low-maintenance hardware suited for commercial environments: The receiver is built to withstand the demands of continuous operation in retail, industrial, and educational settings. Its robust fiber-interfacing and connector design help maintain stable signal quality even in environments with physical wear or challenging mounting constraints. It ships without a power supply, giving you flexibility to source a compatible PSU that fits your site’s Power over Fiber or centralized power architecture, while keeping the unit lightweight and easy to install in existing racks or enclosures.
  • Versatile applications for signage, displays, and security: With its ability to carry color or monochrome video over fiber, the FiberPath Receiver supports a wide array of use cases—from dynamic digital signage that needs broad visibility to discreet surveillance displays that require reliable, space-efficient cabling. The ability to run over standard multimode fiber also reduces the need for specialized cabling, enabling straightforward installation in environments where fiber runs must coexist with other network infrastructure.
  • Enhanced signal integrity and EMI resistance: Fiber-based video transmission eliminates common electrical interference issues associated with copper cabling, making this receiver an excellent choice in environments with heavy EMI, RF noise, or electrical disturbances. The fiber path helps ensure consistent video delivery even in industrial facilities, near heavy machinery, or in sites with stringent electromagnetic requirements, delivering a stable, high-quality viewing experience for critical information displays and security monitoring.

How to install Black Box FiberPath Receiver (Without Power Supply)

To install the Black Box FiberPath Receiver, follow these steps to ensure a reliable setup that maximizes the performance of your FiberPath system. Prepare a stable mounting location with appropriate ventilation and access to the fiber path for maintenance. Ensure you have a compatible transmitter on the opposite end and a compatible display or monitoring device ready to receive the video signal. Because this receiver ships without a power supply, verify that your overall installation includes a suitable power source for the FiberPath network in accordance with your site’s electrical and safety standards.

Step 1: Verify compatibility and plan the fiber run. Confirm that your FiberPath transmitter and receiver are matched in terms of signaling format and that the simplex multimode fiber chosen for the installation supports the required distance and environmental conditions. Plan the route to minimize sharp bends and physical stress on the fiber, preserving signal integrity over the entire link.

Step 2: Connect the fiber cable. Securely connect the standard simplex multimode fiber from the transmitter side to the FiberPath Receiver input, ensuring the connector is seated properly. Use clean, undamaged connectors and avoid any kinking or excessive tension on the cable that could degrade the signal. If you need to detach and re-seat connections, do so gently to maintain a clean optical path.

Step 3: Attach the video output to the display or signage device. Connect the receiver’s video output to your display hardware using the appropriate interface supported by your setup (for example, HDMI, VGA, or another standard interface compatible with the display). Ensure the display is configured to the correct input source and that any display settings (resolution, refresh rate) align with the capabilities of the fiber-transmitted signal.

Step 4: Provide appropriate power to the system. Remember that this receiver ships without a power supply; supply power according to your network design—whether through a centralized power solution or a local PSU that matches the FiberPath configuration. After applying power, verify that the receiver powers on and that the transmitter on the opposite end is also energized so the video link can initialize.

Step 5: Test the signal and adjust as needed. Once powered, confirm that the video arrives on the display clearly and without artifacts. If necessary, adjust alignment, cable management, or the display’s input settings to optimize image quality. Keep the fiber path free from mechanical stress and secured to prevent movement that could impact signal integrity over time. Periodic checks can help ensure long-term performance, especially in high-traffic installations or outdoor settings where environmental factors may vary.

Step 6: Document the installation for maintenance and future upgrades. Record the fiber path route, connector types, distance, and any configuration notes. Clear documentation makes future troubleshooting faster and enables smoother expansions of the FiberPath network without reworking existing cabling.

ASICS shoes never disappoint
Size: 10.5, Color: Cool Grey/White
My husband has run in Asics for years. He usually gets another style but decided to try the Excite because they were on sale. The material in the uppers is very breathable which is nice on hot days. They also have a very stable, thick sole which is perfect for running on asphalt. Generally we don’t walk in our running shoes but on a recent vacation he only had these sneakers so spent a lot of time walking around and they remained incredibly comfy! The Excite seem a bit more narrow in the toe box but otherwise run true to size. We would order them again!

Take my advice, upsize half size bigger
Size: 11.5, Color: Winter Sea/Black
I need to start suggesting everyone that owns Gel-Kayano, Gel-Cumulus and/or GT-1000 14, that if for example you wear US men's size 11 with these, order 11.5 in Gel-Excite 11. When I did a search using AI for getting suggestions on the fitment and sizing of the Gel-Excite's 11, I got 'order half size up' in all results, I was a little skeptical but I follow the suggestions and I'm glad I did because no way that size 11 would've fit me, 11.5 fit me perfectly as the Gel-Kayano 32 in size 11. I've just tried these one, so far I feel them comfortable, I walked for 5K steps and haven't had any discomfort with my flat feet and the issue I have with my left knee patellar tendon. I stood up for 30 minutes while I waited for my car at the carwash, no issues. Time will tell about durability, but I can say the looks and comfort are pretty good for such a budget shoe.
