A gorgeous gold necklace from the Edwardian era, featuring two beautiful precious opals, one oval, one round, set in warm buttery gold settings and suspended from the fine and delicate trace chain with a spring ring clasp. Opals became very popular following discoveries in Australia in the Victorian era, and these two stones are beautiful examples. The lower oval opal is pale blue/white with flashes of red from different angles. While the top round opal is more blue green with a bright green play of colour as its moved in the light.

We must stress than the chain on this piece is delicate and dainty, and we are seeking a very careful owner for this necklace. For example, the end loop on the chain (that the clasp clips onto) is not soldered, and that means if the chain suffers a pull the loop will open. It's been this way for many years and survived, and we would like the piece's next own to be just as careful as those before - it would be awful if this lovely necklace got lost (and of course, we can't help if it does).
