S-Tech roasted maple neck offers stability and durability
The AZ2402's roasted maple neck receives the S-Tech nitrogen-heating treatment, which increases its stability, durability, water resistance, and tolerance to temperature changes. The neck is then sealed with oil, and fingerboard edges are finished with smooth curves for a supremely comfortable broken-in feel. Meanwhile, this guitar’s oil-finished AZ oval C-shaped neck fills your hand nicely at the lower frets while providing a more modern feel when you’re playing up high. You also get an oil-impregnated bone nut for maximum resonance and superior tuning stability.
Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups yield a sweeping array of tones
The AZ2402's Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups are among the most sonically flexible we’ve heard here , and they're exclusively made for Ibanez guitars. Laid out in an HH configuration, these pickups deliver flexible medium output that can go from clean to crunch with a simple sweep of the volume knob. Add in your favorite dirt pedals or dirty amp, and these pickups perform splendidly under high-gain pressure. Our pickup experts hold Hyperion pickups' dynamic response and clarity in the highest regard, especially when you factor in incredible dyna-MIX10 switching. This innovative wiring system elicits 10 different voices from just two humbuckers, and you can shift between humbucker and single-coil modes with a flick of a mini toggle.
Gotoh T1802 tremolo provides superior performance
Developed in collaboration with Gotoh, the AZ2402's T1802 tremolo features titanium saddles to ensure a natural tone with strong durability at the lowest possible weight. The tremolo block is based on Gotoh's venerable 510T model. Strings contact the saddles without touching the stainless-steel block, which leads to more sustain and better tuning stability overall. String skipping and hybrid picking are effortless thanks to narrow string spacing. Loading the guitar’s tremolo arm is a breeze with the T1802's secure socket, and you can make fine adjustments to individual saddles and arm tension. The T1802's stud bolts can also be locked in place for enhanced resonance and ultra-reliable performance.
