Mournful Cries was Saint Vitus' second album with singer Scott 'Wino' Weinrich, and like Born Too Late it confirmed he was the ideal vocalist for the band. The gritty resignation and throaty, fevered force of his voice meshes perfectly with Dave Chandler's howl-in-a-void guitar work, and his lyrics lend the songs an unblinking street-level attitude that gives the tunes a wildly potent force, even on the token fantasy piece 'Dragon Time.' Weinrich's second guitar also gives Chandler more space to stretch out with his thick, buzzing chords, as Armando Acosta's carefully punctuated drumming hits like a fist in the gut and Mark Adams' bass gives the songs a simple but rock-solid foundation. This material is stronger ensemble work than anything Saint Vitus had accomplished to date, and when they rise up in full strength on 'The Creeps' and 'Shooting Gallery, ' they're a mighty and malevolent force to be reckoned with. (The production also gives the material a more resonant and natural sound than they achieved on Born Too Late.) Mournful Cries ranks high in this band's mighty pantheon. Comfortable, warm enough. Feels a bit like a shawl but looks like a good sweater.
I like the color and the fit is good, roomy, feels a bit like a shawl but holds shape and hides a few extra pounds. The zipper is thin but whether you'll find it good enough to last I wouldn't know yet. I'm keeping this.

Comfortable, well put together, nice material, size chart is way off.

A well put together sweater that is made with very soft yarn, and doesn't seem to have any major structural issues. The zipper works great and the stitching looks like there's not major flaws. The only big issue is the 3XL sweater I got is way off size wise. Oversized sweaters are great, so I was excited about getting this for me to use for day to day wear, and my wife (who is a lot smaller than me) to steal when she's watching tv on the couch or sitting outside, so the disappointment was palatable. Sadly the 3XL size is about the same size as XL sweaters in the closet, where as a few 2xl sweaters we recently ordered from another company are a lot larger than this one.
Outside of the major size discrepancy, which could be a major deal breaker for some, the sweater itself is really comfy and really nice. Sadly 3XL is the largest size we could get on the chart.

Very stylish

My husband doesn’t like wearing pullover sweaters because he gets hot after being inside for awhile. This sweater jacket was perfect. It’s stylish and well made. Very comfortable and great price. When I gave him the pkg and reminded me he didn’t like sweaters inside. When he opened it and was pleasantly surprised. Finally he could wear a sweater that was easy to put on and take off. He loved everything about it. I bought more colors and he wears every one of them. Great sweater!
